The En Pointe Ballet Academy is based at the Greasby Methodist Church, Wirral. This family friendly inclusive academy caters for students aged 2yrs to adult and aims to provide a high standard of classical ballet tuition, focusing on combining the enjoyment, expression and technique of ballet. En Pointe follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet syllabus – one of the world’s largest and most

prestigious dance education organisations, known for its excellence in the education of ballet as well as its teacher training. Abby Hutchinson is one of an extremely limited number of ballet teachers on the Wirral trained and qualified up to BA (Hons), LRAD, ARAD and RTS standard. The Academy strives to help every student reach their full potential and offers ballet training for enjoyment, RAD examinations, training to prepare students for auditions to vocational ballet/dance colleges and preparation for classical ballet competitions. Classes include free work as well as exam syllabi, and private tuition is available on request. Further classes will be organised as demand increases. Ballet classes help students to improve their creative skills, body awareness, self confidence and social skills. Pupils here have the opportunity to work towards and enter for RAD exams (at the discretion of the teacher), and also have the chance to participate in annual progress shows. RAD exams are recognised by national qualifications regulators of the UK, and carry UCAS tariff towards university applications. After starting ballet at the age of 3, Abby studied vocationally at the Hammond School, Chester. She then decided to pursue her dream of teaching and successfully gained a place at the Royal Academy of Dance, London. She completed all of her RAD exams, including Advanced 2 and gained her Registered Teacher Status, BA (Hons) in Ballet Education and Licentiate qualifications. (Abby is one of only two teachers on the Wirral to hold these prestigious qualifications). After graduating, Abby travelled internationally, (Hong Kong, Dubai and Cyprus) earning a world-wide reputation for her high standard of teaching and 100% success rate in her students exam results. Abby has now had over 10 years experience in teaching students of all levels and abilities, including vocational and professional classes e.g. Dancecyprus Ballet Company. She has also coached students for internationally acclaimed ballet competitions, such as Youth American Grand Prix, Tanzolymp, Prix de Lausanne and the Asian Grand Prix. Whilst Abby's passion lies with classical ballet, she is also a fully qualified Jazz and Tap teacher with the IDTA and PTD. She has danced for the English Youth Ballet Company as well as the Ballet Rock Company, and is also a talented Irish dancer - holding the 2010 North-West UK Champion and 2015 Hong Kong Senior Championship titles. Abby is a qualified first aided and also has an enhanced DBS check as well as being a licensed chaperone for the Wirral Council.

I can’t even believe I’m having to write this - the latest trend on TikTok is DIY pointe shoes made from cups… it goes without saying that this is incredibly dangerous. Pointe shoes are earned through years of dedication, training and strengthening a dancers body. Once given permission from your teacher, a student will be advised of a suitable dance shop to go to to have a professionally qualified fitter find the right shoes! 🙈😱

Today was the end of an era - Zhi Xuan had her final exam and took her Grade 8 RAD ballet exam. She will always hold a special place in my heart as the first student at my own school to achieve all the graded exams. A model student and an inspiration to all who come after her. Good luck with your next adventure at university studying neuroscience, we will miss you Zhi Xuan!

They are using an amazing DTF printer and then pressing with a duel fusion iq double press to ensure our dancer logo no longer peels off. Both options are available in child and adult sizes.
