A bit of a delayed report. On the 13th June Jules and Debs raced at the British Rowing Masters Championships. The water, as usual, was like the North Sea.
Jules had a fantastic race in his eliminator coming first to secure a good lane in the final. He then provided a great race to watch in the final, blasting through the bronze medal position to confidently secure a silver medal.

Debs came a solid second in her eliminator to secure a place in the final. In the final 3 scullers including Debs were jostling it out for the bronze medal. She lost out to a girl from Gloucester by less than a second after having hit a bouy. Must learn to steer!

Meanwhile at Bridgnorth, our recreational league crew of Pamela, Kate, Martin, Laura & Bev (cox) were competing at Bridgnorth, they had an excellent day and won both of their races.

Next up Ironbridge this weekend.

We had an excellent weekend of racing at Monmouth last weekend. 4 regatta wins and 6 out of 10 races won. Of special note are Linda C for her first ever singles race and Jo E for her first ever 1x regatta win.

Here’s a run down of the results:

Saturday 1,500m
Jo E & Debs W Senior 2x - lost by 3 lengths to Dart Totnes
Harriet & Mel W MasC 2x - won against Avon County with a verdict of easily

Sunday 750m
Debs W Senior 1x - heat won against Llandaff City of Oxford (Weston) by 2 lengths
Semi final won against Nottingham Rowing Club (Lawler) by 2 lengths
Final lost against Nottingham
rowing Club (Barnard) with a verdict of easily

Will Op MasG/H 1x - lost to Dart Totnes (Atkinson) (6 second handicap against)

Linda C W MasE/F 1x - lost to Exeter (Burke) with a verdict of easily (6 second handicap in favour)

Rodney Op MasD 1x - won against Gloucester (Maddinson) by 3 lengths

Jo E W MasB 1x - won against Llandaff (Paley) by 3 lengths

Debs W MasC/D 1x - won against Llandaff (Starr) with a verdict of easily (6 second handicap against)
