From coaching gymnastics classes and learning British Sign Language, to serving on her school's pupil parliament and achieving both her Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Niamh Cunneen has already packed an impressive amount into her time at St Margaret's Academy.

That's why I'm delighted to announce that Niamh has been selected as the 2026 Robin Cook Intern.

The Robin Cook Internship was created to give young people from across the Livingston constituency the opportunity to experience politics and public service first-hand, both here in my West Lothian constituency office and at Westminster.

This year we received another fantastic response, with applications from talented young people across West Lothian. The standard was incredibly high, making the selection process extremely difficult.

Niamh's enthusiasm, commitment to her community and passion for politics really stood out throughout the process, and I know she will make the most of this opportunity.

The internship is paid at the Real Living Wage because I believe opportunities like this should be open to young people from all backgrounds.

I'm looking forward to welcoming Niamh to the team over the summer and seeing all she achieves during her time in the Livingston constituency and Westminster.

💫 Huge appreciation post! 💫

After another massively successful competition showcasing 286 of our fantastic gymnasts I just wanted to publicly recognise the massive effort and dedication our club founder Neil Robertson puts in.

So much goes on behind the scenes running and organising these events and without him none of this would be possible!

From every gymnast, coach and helper - thank you so much - we appreciate all you do. 👏

We wish to run a Tombola stall at our up and coming club competition - any donations towards this would be much appreciated!

Unused gifts, bottles, chocolates, vouchers, toiletries, toys, or small hampers would all be very welcome — every donation will help make it a success.

Donations can be handed into your child’s class teachers. Thank you!

ANIMAL KINGDOM CUP – INFORMATION

For those entered, please see the information for our club competition (we cannot accept any last minutes entries);

Date: Sunday 7th June 2026

Please locate which pool your child is in, and check the timetable for their arrival times etc. Age groups are determined by the age the gymnast turns in 2026
To reduce congestion, please do not arrive earlier than the stated arrival time.

Clothing
Gymnasts should wear a leotard if they have one, if not, T-shirt and shorts. Long hair should be tied up; gymnasts cannot wear any jewellery when competing.

Parking
Parking is limited at the venue. Please use the car park when spaces permit. If parking on the street, please park responsibly and be respectful of our neighbours.

Spectators
2 spectators per participant is permitted. Youngs siblings/children are welcome to sit on an adult’s knee. There is no fee for spectators as this was included within the competition entry fee. We ask that no food or drink (except water) be brought into, or consumed within the venue.

Routine Slips
All gymnasts should now have received a slip with their routine, we ask that your child brings their slip on the day.

Tombola Prizes
Donations towards our tombola would be gratefully appreciated , these can be handed in at class or on the day.
