The idea behind our developing pathway with WGC FC is simple: we want local players who grow up playing their football in Welwyn Garden City to have the opportunity to one day represent their local senior team.

Of course, players will need to reach the required standard, but we want the pathway and the opportunity to be there for those capable of making that step.

This is still very much a work in progress, with possible future plans to help bridge the gap between youth and senior football through an U21/Reserve team.

But a pathway isn’t just about playing. It’s also about building a connection with our local senior club.

So we’re asking Panshanger players, parents, coaches, friends and families to get behind WGC FC and start supporting the First Team.

And what better place to start than their first home game of the season today?

Bring the kids down, watch the game and let them experience senior football at their local club. Hopefully, in the years ahead, some of them might be the ones out there wearing the shirt. ⚽💚

⚽ OUR PLAYER PATHWAY ⚽

Here at Panshanger Football Club, we’re proud to be able to offer our players a clear pathway from their very first steps in football, right through to the opportunity to progress into the men’s game.

Starting with Tetra sports WGC from age 2, players can develop their love for the game before moving into junior football with Panshanger FC from U7.

From U7–U18, players can enjoy grassroots football in the Mid Herts League, while from U12 we can also offer additional opportunities for players looking to challenge themselves at a higher level:

🟢 Panshanger FC JPL – U12 to U18
Saturday football for our advanced players.

⚪ WGC EJA – U12 to U18
Sunday football with the opportunity to trial and compete at EJA level.

🔴 WGC FC Men’s Pathway
Through our growing relationship with Welwyn Garden City FC, players who continue to develop and reach the required standard now have a genuine pathway towards senior men’s football.

Our aim is simple: give every player the opportunity to enjoy their football, develop at their own pace and reach the highest level their ability and ambition can take them.

From a child kicking a ball for the first time to aspiring to play senior football — there is a pathway. ⚽💚
