You've left the relationship. So... what happens now?

Leaving doesn't automatically mean everything suddenly feels okay.

You might have spent so long questioning yourself that making your own decisions feels strange.

Your confidence may have taken a knock.

You might know exactly what you don't want anymore, but have absolutely no idea what you do want.

And this is where coaching can help. 💜

Coaching isn't about me telling you what your new life should look like.

It's about helping you work out what you want it to look like.

We might work on rebuilding your confidence, learning to trust your own judgement again, recognising patterns you don't want to repeat, setting boundaries or simply figuring out who you are now.

My own journey has taught me just how much there can be to rediscover.

✨ There is life after a difficult relationship.

And you don't have to have it all figured out before you start moving forward.

I work online with clients across the world, so if you're ready to start thinking about what comes next, send me a message and we can talk about how coaching could support you.

💚 Green Flag Friday

Someone doesn't have to agree with every boundary you set to respect it.

They might feel disappointed.

They might see things differently.

They might even want to talk about it.

And that's okay.

The green flag is knowing you can express what you need without being made to feel guilty, selfish or unreasonable for having that need in the first place.

✨ Healthy relationships leave room for both people to have boundaries.

You can talk about them, understand where each other is coming from and find ways forward without one person having to give up what matters to them just to keep the peace.

Respect isn't always agreement.

Sometimes it's simply being able to say, "I hear you, and I respect what you need." 💚

Attention and affection aren't red flags.

And I think that's an important distinction to make when we talk about love bombing.

Someone being excited about you, wanting to spend time with you or showing you affection doesn't automatically mean there's something sinister behind it.

The difference often becomes clearer when you look at what happens when you don't match their pace.

💭 Can you say no?

Can you ask for space?

Can you disagree?

Can you have other people and interests in your life without it becoming a problem?

Genuine affection leaves room for you to still be you.

Love bombing can feel wonderful at first, which is precisely why it can be so difficult to recognise.

Don't just look at how someone treats you when everything is going their way.

Notice what happens when you have a boundary too 💜

For years, there were things about my life that simply didn't make sense to me.

Why did I doubt myself so easily?

Why did I struggle to trust what I knew and felt?

Why could somebody tell me something about myself that I was fairly certain wasn't true... and I'd still wonder if perhaps they were right?

As I've gone through my own journey, I've started looking back at those experiences very differently.

❤️ It's been like finding pieces of a jigsaw I didn't even realise I was trying to complete.

There are still moments when I think, "Oh my goodness, maybe I did get it wrong."

But I can recognise that thought now rather than automatically believing it.

And the more I've understood my own relationship patterns, the more things have started to make sense.

For me, healing hasn't been about carrying around a huge amount of baggage from the past.

It's actually felt like putting some of it down.

Understanding myself has given me clarity.

And with clarity, I've been able to make very different choices about what and who I allow into my life now 💜

If you're beginning to recognise patterns in your own life and don't know what to make of them, you don't have to unravel them on your own.

💚 Green Flag Friday

Your friends.

Your hobbies.

Your work.

Your interests.

Your time alone.

A healthy relationship has room for all of them.

Being close to somebody doesn't mean becoming their entire world or expecting them to become yours.

✨ Independence isn't rejection.

You can love somebody deeply and still have parts of your life that belong to you.

A supportive partner doesn't need to make themselves smaller when you flourish.

And they don't need you to make yourself smaller so they feel secure either.

Healthy relationships make room for two whole people 💚

MYTH: A healthy relationship should be easy.

I don't believe that.

Relationships involve two people with different experiences, needs, personalities and ways of communicating.

Of course there will be difficult moments.

You might misunderstand each other.

You might argue.

You might go through periods where life gets in the way and you don't feel as connected as you'd like.

💡 None of those things automatically mean your relationship is unhealthy.

What matters is what happens when things are difficult.

Can you listen to each other?

Can you both take responsibility when you get something wrong?

Can you talk about your needs without fear?

Are you both willing to learn and make changes?

I've seen couples make real changes when both people have the willingness to understand each other and do things differently.

✨ Healthy relationships aren't perfect.

They're two people continuing to choose respect, understanding and each other, even when things aren't easy 💜

Gaslighting isn't simply someone remembering an argument differently to you.

Two people can experience the same situation differently.

We forget things. We misunderstand each other. We get things wrong.

Gaslighting is different.

It's a repeated pattern that leaves you questioning your own memory, judgement or perception of what's happening.

And over time, you may not need the other person to question you anymore.

You start doing it yourself.

"Maybe I'm remembering it wrong."

"Maybe I am too sensitive."

"Maybe it was my fault."

💡 That's why recognising the pattern matters.

You deserve to be able to trust your own thoughts and experiences.

If you've reached a point where you don't know what to believe anymore, having a safe space to talk through what's been happening can help you begin making sense of it 💜
