University of Manchester Volleyball Club (UMVC) Let us show you how to volley life. Never was there known such a marauding bunch of sociable athletes and athletic socialites as UMVC. Hope to see you soon :)

Whether demonstrating unparalleled skill and discipline on the court or celebrating with equal enthusiasm in the pub, you will never be short of an exciting time with our volleyball club. We have two men's teams and two women's teams competing in the BUCS competition, as well as teams which compete in the local league. We also hold social sessions, for players with less experience, which offer everyone an opportunity to improve their skills, as well as actually playing some volleyball! When we have some time off from actually playing volleyball, we can often be found in Sandbar or 'The Pub', delighting in stories from the most recent UMVC trip and planning the next outing! This year has seen us travel to Rimini, Italy, to enjoy some sun, sand and perfect setting - Bournemouth, for the Student Beach Cup, a somewhat lesser seaside scene and even Fallowfield, to award colourful cocktails to deserving players in the legendary Font bar. All in all we're a competitive club, with first teams that regularly emerge victorious from clashes with some of the very best teams in the land, but which has a commitment to making sure
that everyone feels welcome and get the chance to play as much volleyball as possible!

Join us for a pub golf social hosted on the 14th of December! This is a drinking competition, but you can also join and not drink at all (just mention it on the sign up sheet!). Please sign up on the even on Lounge by Sunday 10pm so we can allocate teams! The dress code will be released on Monday on lounge so keep an eye out for that :)

WOMENS MATCH REPORT 🏐🌟

In todays away game, our women's 2nd team played MMU and UCLan. The women’s team beat MMU 2:1. It was a tough and close first set, with the girls losing 23-25. However, they brought their A game and won the second set 25-20, finishing off the third set strong, and scoring 15-13. In the game against UCLan, the girls dominated and went undefeated 2:0 with the first set at 25-12 and the second at 25-20. These games place the women’s team at the top of the league, till the next tournament in 2 weeks. It was an amazing performance from everyone on the court this week. Big congratulations to all our teams and good luck in the upcoming games.

The mens first team won 3:0 in their game against Hull. The team scored 25:10, 25:14, and 25:16 in the 3 sets played within the hour. This means the men keep their spot at the top of their league, placing them 9 points ahead of Leeds in second place.
