Today we held the first of our Cumbria County Boys Development Training sessions. 10 attended in total on a cool but dry day. We kicked off with chipping outside, covering good and bad lies and how to change stance/setup to allow for different lies and wet conditions.
Then onto target practice with Pitching in the driving range.
We then covered full swing shots with irons, long irons, hybrids, fairways & drivers. We used the targets and visuals on the range to highlight direction targets and goals to help assess and get more out of practice sessions.
Final part was some yardage control in my swing room using the launch monitor along with a putting challenge.
There were team competitions after each activity working in pairs. Dougie McKenna & Will Lister from Ulverston GC won the most amount of challenges with a total of 5 wins out of 14 different games played.
All players showed great talent and willingness to learn & improve!
