Open Adventure's doors are most definitely closed, all of the events moved on to some great people.. but just occasionally we might post a cool photo on here from 17 years of races. Just to remind some of you what you got up to - and perhaps how fit you were.

This one of those weekends in the Lakes, that not only was one of the best head to head races ever - but also was just an amazing weekend to running and cycling in the Lakes.

Anyone remember the little trail run?

Sorry for the delay on this. We didn't always have a photographer on the finish line when teams came in. With the logic that something is better than nothing, I snapped some photos with my phone (James - Race Director).

Great to have Carrie along on the event. Sorry you had to put up with us three, at least the rest of the crew would have made up for it.

We wish you well in your planning for your own events.

Thank you to the team at the ITERA Expedition Race for welcoming Carrie from the Ozark Outdoor Foundation to the Adventure Racing World Series event in Scotland last month.

The chance to volunteer and observe such an experienced race organisation was invaluable, and is one of the advantages of being part of the ARWS - Adventure Racing World Series.

ITERA put on an amazing race and set the standard we will aim for at the first Expedition Ozark next April.

Pictured are the race organisers; Paul McGreal and James Thurlow, and the course planner Tom Gibbs (who is a former Adventure Racing World Champion).

Press release from AR World Series on the ITERA. You might think press releases make your eyes go dry and sap the life out of the liveliest of beings.. but this one is a good read and gives a summary of what happened just over a week ago.
