Scotland when it's good it's really good.

I recently spent 3 days paddling around the Summer Isles wearing a t-shirt, flip flops and my fabulous Level Six guide shorts. They were quick drying and comfortable both in the kayak and at camp. Thank you LevelSix.

These shorts live in my boating kit permanently just in case there's an opportunity for a swim in a beautiful place.

It's always a good idea to wash your fjord dry suit with fresh water after each use.

I find melt water from the Greenland ice cap works best but failing that any fresh water will do.

Then hang out to dry naturally, make sure you dry it inside and out paying particular attention to the hood and socks.

This was a rather magical moment. We spotted a dragonfly in the water and managed to rescue it with a paddle where it dried out its wings enough to fly away into the sunshine.
