A quick roundup of this weekends events; it’s a busy one…

⛳️ Thursday night - Beginner golf 6pm

⛳️ Friday night - our weekly Texas scramble 5.30pm for 6pm start - come along for a warm up before Saturdays competition…

⛳️ Saturday - Charity Pairs Texas scramble -12 noon for 1pm shotgun start + some other fundraising events including “The Hole” kindly borrowed from Inverness Crazy Golf, all to raise money for 2 great charities, Mikeysline and Rural Athlete Support Network .

Swing by The Clubhouse on Saturday afternoon for some pre Oddballs Ullapool fun!

Pairs Texas Scramble – Simple Rules
• Teams of 2 players, played in 4’s
• Both players tee off on every hole.
• Choose the best shot and both players play their next shot from that spot (mark the spot with a tee).
• Continue this way until the ball is putted.
• Record one score per hole for the pair.
• On the green, both players putt from the same spot (mark with a ball marker).
• Minimum of 3 drives are required from each player.
• Best nett score wins!
• Handicaps will be calculated as; 35% of the Low HC and 15% of the High HC.
• If you don't have a handicap you can still enter – Men’s max handicap set at 28 and Women’s at 36.
Most important: Have fun, play quickly, and remember whose drives you've used!
Help raise funds for 2 really Important Charities!

Today’s winner of the Angie Allan Competition is Kenny Mackenzie with a Net 70, followed closely by David Munro with a 71 and Gary MacDonald with a 75. The rain stayed away but the wind certainly caused a few challenges.

Thanks also to Heather Mackenzie (Angie’s daughter) who came up to present the trophy.

In the women’s section, today’s Stableford winner is Irene Macdonald, with 36 points, followed closely by Becca MacDonald with 34 and Coleen Lindsay with 33.

Despite a lot of rain the course has dried out pretty well.
Thanks to our course Manager Marc and volunteers for keeping the course in great condition, and staff in the Clubhouse for looking after everyone.

Next Sunday 16th is the Tanera Cup which is a Mixed matchplay competition - entries on the App by Friday afternoon please! 🏆⛳️

If you’re in Ullapool pop into the Village hall for the local market on today (Saturday), and support Radio Wester Ross’s raffle… there’s also some 4-Balls in the raffle for Ullapool Golf Club and Gairloch Golf Club. ⛳️😁

Final chance today to purchase your RWR raffle tickets in the Ullapool area.

Pop along to the craft market at the Ullapool Village Hall from 10.30 - 3.30pm and get your tickets.

A slight change of plan for today; the Men’s Angie Allan competition will be moved to Sunday due to weather.
The course is open, however the practice green is out of bounds for now due to being waterlogged.
The forecast looks better tomorrow🤞

The weathers not been the best today, but we still had some keen golfers out in the rain and a busy week including some cruise ship visitors.

This weekend’s fixtures;.
Saturday is the men’s Angie Allan Trophy, tee times from 10am and Sunday has our Women’s monthly stableford, tee times from 9.20am.

Please note that the course will be closed 10am until approx 12.30 on Saturday and approx 9.20am - Midday on Sunday, please check in at The Clubhouse before playing.

Hopefully the weather improves (photo taken from a sunnier day from our 3rd fairway, Monday 🤣)🤞☔️🌦️⛳️

Golfing or Sailing, or both?
A stunning shot from our 6th green taken last week by our course manager Marc. Ullapool's new harbour & pontoons are a great stop off if touring the west coast. Don't worry if you don't have space for your clubs, you can hire clubs and trolleys and even our petrol buggy if required (pre-booking is recommended) and taxi service is available from the harbour with Ulla Taxis .
Our green fees allow you to play all day and our clubhouse will look after you;
Arrive in the morning, have some breakfast, play the front 9, a quick stop for some lunch then back out to play the back 9.

🎟️ Our Charity 4-Ball Raffle is now live! ⛳

We're delighted to launch our Charity 4-Ball Raffle, running throughout August to raise funds for two fantastic charities:
Mikeysline and Rural Athlete Support Network

🎫 Tickets are just £2 each and are available from The Clubhouse, or online - link in the comments. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 30th August after our Men's 2 Day Open.

A huge thank you to the 23 golf clubs from across Scotland who have generously donated 4-ball vouchers to make this fundraiser possible. We are incredibly grateful for your support. Please take a moment to follow their pages and share this post to help us spread the word.

⛳ Entries are also open for our 9-Hole Charity Pairs Texas Scramble on Saturday 15th August. It's a fun, family-friendly event, open to golfers of all abilities.
