It’s a grey old day today with a bit of a blustery wind and rain forecast later although that hasn’t stopped our latest intrepid boatload currently out on the loch.

A curious minke out in Loch Broom this afternoon, one of three that we spotted on our Whale & Dolphin tour. The season may be drawing to a close but the loch remains as busy as ever.

Here's a flavour of what conditions were like yesterday morning out on the loch. Glorious sunshine, gusting wind and lots and lots of spray! Of course the dolphins didn’t seem to mind and nor did our boatload who were well warned what to expect 😂😂.

We’re expecting the wind to be a bit quieter today for Captain Carlos’ last day out with us this season. Thanks for everything - it's been a blast! See you next year 😢👋👋

If you look closely at these photos of a minke whale lunge feeding, you can see the sprats sent flying in the spray and displaced water! Just remarkable - it really gives you a sense of the power of these incredible cetaceans.

Thanks to Stuart for sharing after his Summer Isles trip out with us yesterday. Such a good excursion.

Otters in Cathedral Cave!
What a wonderful treat for our boatload.

The Whale & Dolphin tour visited yesterday afternoon and startled two otters amusing themselves in and out of the water.

Thanks to@spectaclephotography for his quick reactions. The creatures took one look and then vanished off the rocks but left us all delighted. Such a highlight. 🥰

Such a special moment for our Summer Isles trip yesterday evening, watching dolphins play as the sun dipped below the horizon. The colour of the sky was so vivid.

After a technical glitch kept us off the water yesterday, it felt as if the dolphins were waiting to welcome us this morning when we headed out at 9am, leading the way out past Ullapool and off to explore the riches of Loch Broom. A sublime start for our boatload. 🐬🌞💙

You know how animals never reappear where you expect them to? So the minke whale disappears under the Seascape’s RIB and we all look confidently over to the other side … as if we were playing Pooh sticks … Fooled again! 🤗
