A part of my summer was sorting out family photos. A good way how to face your past π
Here is a photo of my grandmother, who was my first hero and a big influence on how to age smart π
She died at age 83 in the mid 90βs ( so pretty good age for that time). She was healthy, independent, mobile, witty and by far the nicest person I knew π
She didnβt have particularly easy life. She gave birth to 8 children, moved countries, world around her had completely changed a few times. But when I think about how she lived, it ticks all the boxes for physical and cognitive health π
She spoke several languages. Perfect Hungarian and German, very good Slovak and some Czech π She was always out in the nature foraging. She was very involved with people around her, especially her grandchildren and she kept constantly changing with the changes. All of which recent research into cognitive health keeps showing again and again are good activities to keep our brain working well π
Even after all these years I still miss so much
