We’re delighted to share how £5,000 of Micro Grant funding has been awarded locally through the South Lanarkshire Renewable Energy Fund to support a fantastic range of community groups, clubs and grassroots initiatives across Uddingston.
These grants are creating real local impact. They help create opportunities, remove barriers, support volunteers, inspire young people and strengthen the organisations that play such an important role in community life.
This year’s awards will help deliver:
• Moorlands Football Club – new kits and jackets so players can represent their club with pride
• Uddingston Tae Kwon-Do (TAGB) – support to compete at the British Championships
• Woodland Beginnings – a Scottish woodland animal nature trail encouraging outdoor learning and discovery
• Bothwell and Uddingston Men's Shed – improved flooring to enhance a valued community space
• 1st Uddingston Rangers – hands-on activities including crafts, cooking, engineering and camping experiences
• Handmades – creative pottery or fused glass sessions bringing people together through art
• Muiredge Primary School Parent Council – support for their summer fayre to create a memorable community event
• 2nd Uddingston Rainbows – badges, equipment, stationery and a farm visit full of learning and fun
• 2nd Uddingston Guides – activities and a residential trip helping build confidence and friendships
• 3rd Uddingston Brownies – materials for crafts, cooking and engaging group activities
• Uddingston Anvil FC - Investment in Parks, pitches, equipment and referee costs.
From sport and youth development to creativity, wellbeing and community events, this funding is helping local groups thrive and ensuring great ideas can become reality.
