Play will be from the new par 3 tees with an individual a team event, handicaps only required for the competition. Everyone is welcome to participate in the putting competition with correct footwear.

There will be an opportunity to meet the team from Golf, Hotel & Health club and Horsted Place plus food sampling from our new Grill restaurant, special discounts in the golf shop and instruction from our golf coaches, including a Yoga / Golf coaching programme new to the UK.

If you wish to attend, please book via Club V1 from Friday 3rd October , All visitors will need to contact the shop or e-mail [email protected].

There is no requirement to play golf on the day , you are free to just visit.

We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Greenkeeping crew are working hard on maintaining the West Course using the DryJect machine with Ken Siems our original Course Superintendent and the person responsible in building the greens in the late 80’s. DryJecting causes minimal disruption to play and the West Course will be back fully operational by weekend. Roll your rock 🪨

Congratulations to the Club Championship prize winners and all who competed.

Brilliant golf from Mark Budd as he claims first win
Mark Budd was understandably pleased to win his first Club Championship, Runner-Up in 2011, held off challenges from a strong field to record his maiden win.

90 players were competing for the gross & handicap prizes with most finding the lightning-fast greens too difficult to mount a challenge.

Mark backed up his opening round of 72 on the West with another 72 on the East. He could easily have thought his opportunity had gone yesterday when at -5 for the round, he hit his 3-wood tee shot over 370 yards on the par 5 twelfth hole into the cross hazard at the end of the fairway, taking a quadruple bogey 9, but he maintained his composure and closed with a level par 72.

Jo Smuts matched that score with past Champions Ash Rees & Dean Plant in close pursuit.

Mark’s long game proved to good for the field, reducing many holes to drive & pitch whilst many are hitting mid-irons.

The scoring in round 2 on the East was harder, but a -2 under par back nine was good enough for a 4-shot victory over Ash Rees with Lee Drew in 3rd.

Congratulations to Mark, a very worthy & popular Champion.

Jane Saunders wins the Silver Vase
Sue & Jane pictured with their respective trophies.

Sue Davis won the Club Championship for a record 8th time and 5 years in a row. Rounds of 83 - 83 = 166 total enabled her to win by 9 shots from Jane Saunders.

Jane won the Silver Vase with rounds of 68-80 = 148 total
