rounded off an exciting 2021 season in the championship and a steady rising throughout the season to become a consistent top 10 finisher securing P9 overall after two drop scores.

Can't wait for next season - our car has swiftly undergone its engine power increase and limited slip diff upgrade ready to take on the challenge courtesy of who have very capably provided us with transport and maintenance package for the past two years.

So many people to thank for their contribution to making this a highly memorable season:
Fellow 270R competitors and Brake Dancers team for their banter in the paddock and tough exciting battles on the track.
DPR for their support and patience answering a continual flow of newbie questions.
Darren Burke for his sim and circuit coaching which is translating now into better results.
Caterham for running the season so well including their mechanics getting me out of trouble on some occasions.
Friends and family, particularly my wife Karen attending every event, for cheering me on live at the trackside or watching the stream.

Roll on 2022!

Cadwell Park Caterham 270R Championship Oct 2021 D&D Wildcard Racing - Race 2 featuring a determined Nick Allbones, Daryl Cresswell, Dave Morgan and Tim Steel concluding with a race to the line. Being the last championship race weekend I needed to avoid any incidents as already had my two drop scores early on so delighted to have finished the season with a bit of a flurry - P8 & 7 Croft, P6 & 6 Snetterton and P8 & 8 Cadwell

Started P8. Got a decent start off the grid and enjoyed some very entertaining tight interaction with others equally determined to make progress in what was...

Great to be driving with these guys again - this time in the Daytona 2021 Dmax 24 hour race at Milton Keynes 29th/30th May.

TEAM BIO:

D&D Wildcard Racing is a long established karting team comprising experienced enduro kart drivers who have secured many podium results in both team events and individual competitions in the DMAX and Club100 series over the years.

After a long break due to Covid drivers have been shaking off the cobwebs with sessions at Daytona Milton Keynes with some competing in the Superchamps so will have gained a ton of knowledge about the track and kart handling in all types of weather and traffic conditions.

All their team drivers are sympathetic to the kart, always keen to look after it as so important in a 24 hour event, but also ruthless in overtaking utilising their race craft honed over the years. Matche

Not surprisingly I felt a little anxious heading out on a slippery fast track given smashing up a 30k car wouldn't be exactly ideal. So my pre race plan is take it steady, keep well out of any early trouble and remain on the black stuff before getting nicely into the groove.

So far so good, all is going well and I'm progressing through the traffic until weather takes a real turn at 18:29. Unlike the camera I could barely see a thing through the windscreen and my arm restraints hugely limited what I could wipe off inside to a very narrow strip. 10 mins but felt like a life time of peering through small triangular gaps where screen meet roll cage to desperately view any potential brake point indicators. Pleased to have made it to the finish line in a decent position (14th of 24) and without mishap. 😀

Note this season we are combined with faster 270R who start 20 secs ahead on the grid.

Starts off damp but ok. About halfway into race the weather deteriorates rapidly. Puddles form and I can barely see anything through the windscreen, more jus...
