⚽ Reyhan’s Journey – A&T Lioness OG - Bury FC U16’s 💚

From the moment Reyhan joined the Astley & Tyldesley Lionesses programme, it was clear she possessed not only natural ability, but also a genuine passion for the game.

To support her development and provide the challenge she needed, Reyhan was signed to the year above age group — competing against physically stronger and more experienced players. This gave her the perfect environment to develop her resilience, decision-making, and technical ability, especially her tricky footwork to get out of trouble & calmness under pressure.

Over the last four years, she’s grown into a strong , confident and capable attacking player, and watching that development has been a pleasure to be apart of.

Her confidence and growth have now earned her a spot at Bury FC U16s, where she’s already playing up an age in the North West Girls Super League — a true reflection of her progress and the strong foundation she’s built over her time with us.

We’re incredibly proud of everything Reyhan has achieved, and as she continues this next exciting chapter, we’ll be backing her all the way.

She’ll always be an Astley & Tyldesley Lioness O.G ! Good luck Reyhan shoot for the stars!

🌟 Wishing Flo Jo Every Success! 🌟

Everyone at A&T Lionesses is bursting with pride as we say a heartfelt good luck to ‘Flo Jo’ Johnson, who is taking her football journey to the next level with Burnley FC and Elite Football, playing in the highly competitive Junior Premier League (JPL).

Flo has been with our U16s since 2022, and it’s been an absolute privilege to watch her evolve into the outstanding footballer she is today. Her technical ability, work ethic, and that ever-sunny attitude have made her a standout both on and off the pitch.

She’s earned this move through years of dedication and passion, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her shine on an even bigger stage. Playing in the JPL is a huge achievement — and there’s no doubt Flo is ready to meet the challenge head-on.

Though we’ll miss her hugely at Astley & Tyldesley FC, she’ll always be part of our Lionesses family. Go smash it, Flo — the best is yet to come! ⚽💫

We’re looking for new players to join our squad after a couple of our girls were given the amazing opportunity to progress to academy football.
Our team have been playing for 4 years mid level ability, ideally we require players or girls who have previous experience playing football.
Astley & Tyldesley have a proud history — we were the first girls’ team in the area back in 2005 which was the team our local Lioness Ella Toone was part of.

Match report (big one )

A&T Lionesses U15’s played at home today, against Cromwell we’ve started off the season riddled with injuries we had 11 & a sub & today 10 girls started as our goalie & a defender were late.
We were a bit slow but kept it tight at the back until we could get our goalie in & get 11 on.
The girls were a bit all over the place sitting too deep & not pushing up or getting out quick enough so unfortunately we invited the pressure on ourselves & paid the price with 2 goals in 30mins, then our 1st injury saw our striker off 10mins before half time, we switched players around but 1 of our defenders was struggling with her knee unfortunately for us the opposition capitalised on this & at half time we were 0-3 down.
2nd half we had 10 players, opposition played the advantage & kept 11 on & rotated his subs, we set up to attack after a good half time talk,

The 2nd half instead of parking the bus & going defensive we decided to take the risk & go full out on some pressure & attack - at times you couldn’t tell we only had 10 on the pitch & then our striker got a through ball & she was away 1v1 the goalie & it was in! With a goal on her debut.
20mins in the 2nd half we scored again! Now it was 2-3!
We hit the bar, we had countless attempts shooting directly at the goalie, but what an amazing come back with 10 players!
The opposition started getting nervous as we had attempt after attempt , 9mins left & the opposition made a break our defence ran them down the line ending in a corner ,
Corner taken , we got a head to it but as it bounced off the ground hit one of our players wrists the ref pointed to the penalty spot.
We were gutted but got ready to run in the second it was taken luckily she skied it!
The attack was back on less than 3 mins to go the opposition decided to go defensive & parked the bus
2 very close attempts were stopped & as we won possession again our winger had a free run without an opposition player in sight & the ref blew the whistle!
although we lost it was one of the best games we’ve played!
Can’t wait for a full squad without injuries not had one yet so far.
Great battling from the girls though.

The season was rounded off with a brilliant presentation day at Astley & Tyldesley FC!
Big well done to all the girls, we’ve really clicked as a team now & are ready & excited to take on a new league with the Warrington girls league next season! 💚⚽️
