Excuse the language but this is well worth a read... it’s about time people stopped buttering it up and made things simple.
I’m not sure who coined it’s “just a calorie deficit” because that wasn’t me.
It’s like saying “it’s just about saving money” to someone looking to write off debt. A calorie deficit is the underlying mechanism behind all fat loss diets that have ever occurred in history. The issue is that people are led to believe they’re not eating ‘clean enough’ or running ‘enough’ for fat loss. They don’t understand the mechanisms, instead they’re misled onto other people’s agendas that will behind the scenes create a deficit. (Shorter feeding window, eradication of carbs etc.)Now WHAT you eat is incredibly important, as at the end of the day it’s what you eat that determines if you’re in a deficit or not. Not only that but eating a high protein diet will increase your thermic effect, fill you up between meals more and help you with preserving and growing muscle mass. Then we require nutrients from food, fibre is important, fruit is fantastic on a diet despite what some idiot c**t with a six pack tells you online about SuGaR.
I often correlate fat loss being like a leak in the bathroom. Initially it’s about plugging the leak (calorie deficit) then in time working on cleaning up as you go along (improving diet quality).Too many people focus on the cleaning without addressing the leak initially and run around in circles. I’m not saying YOU ONLY need to plug the leak. But it’s a great way to get the ball rolling, and it’s amazing how much motivation people get when they realise that the leak has stopped and every ounce of effort is only going to benefit the clean up process. You can lose weight on just donuts alone, people lose fat in a coma but I wouldn’t recommend it.It is as simple as that yeah, but what you eat is like the icing for that cake you just made. Just don’t want people with great icing and no cake.King of delivering Anal.ogies.James
