Kettlebell Suitcase Deadlift
Similar to a conventional deadlift, the suitcase deadlift is a effective and efficient compound exercise that helps target hamstrings, quads, glutes, hip flexors, lower and upper back, core and even grip strength.
Also, because the weight is loaded to one side it will be causing your obliques to work harder for body stabilisation, helping build a strong, solid core.
You can perform this exercise with a kettlebell, dumbbell or even a... suitcase, which makes it a great home workout.
Teaching points:
1) Start with the weight next to your foot
2) Feet roughly shoulder width apart
3) Keep your chest up, shoulders back and core tight
4) Taking a deep breath, slowly come down and grab the weight while keeping your arm straight
5) Keeping everything tight and straight, drive you hips forward and bring your body to an upright position without shifting your weight.
6) Aim for 6-8 reps then switch sides and repeat.
