This May saw so the continuation of Truro and Falmouth Juniors battling it out for the Jr Pawle Cup as a warm up to the Men’s Event later in the day.
After Truro won in 2025, Falmouth were keen for revenge.

First up was Truro’s Zach M Vs Falmouth’s Toby G. Zach took an early lead going 1-0 up and continued pressure saw him capitalise and quickly take the second for a 2-0 lead. Zach’s experience proved too much and he eventually won 3-0 to put Truro 1-0 up in the 5 match tie.

Next, Abi B for Truro played Rory P of Falmouth. Abi came into the match full of confidence having just won a Cornwall Ladies B league event. Playing well she quickly went 1-0 up, Rory played a strong 2nd game, but Abi held on to win and go 2-0 up. Abi’s confidence shone through as she took the match 3-0 and Truro to a 2-0 lead.

Aware that another win for Truro would win the tie, Sam M for Falmouth was determined to keep the tie alive against Theo M. Playing some great squash he took the tie with another 3-0 match, bringing Falmouth back into the tie at 2-1.

With pressure still on Jack G of Falmouth was up against Elijah L of Truro, good squash by both players made this the tightest of the matches so far, with all games being 11-9. However it was Jack’s experience that took the match 3-0 and importantly the tie, bringing it back to 2-2 and all to play for in the final match.

The final match was a replay of this year’s u13s County final, where Falmouth’s Paddy S had to withdraw due to injury to Truro’s Rudo K. Squash of the highest order was played in a tense, tight decider. Rudo went 2-0 up after some tight games. Paddy was determined to make Rudo work for the win, but Rudo just squeezed the 3rd 12-10, to take the match 3-0 and the 2026 title for Truro, until next year

Squash gives you best of health.
Even today squash is the most healthy intense racket sport.
Due to its high intensity, long rallies, high ball speeds and highly tactical play, it really gets your heart rate going.
Squash also has the most playing time per hour, with very little downtime during a match. With an official maximum of just 90 seconds between games, there is hardly any time to cool down. It is a continuous race to the end.
The perfect workout in a busy lifestyle that keeps you fit and sharp.

Many Congratulations to the o55 county team - made up of mostly Truro players- who defeated Avon and Devon this weekend, advancing to the National finals in Warwickshire next May. Also well done to the county o45 team who battled away in Somerset and also made it through to the finals. A big weekend of squash action awaits and medals to be won!
