We believe that, given the appropriate conditions, every individual has limitless capacity to heal, to come to new thoughts and beliefs and to change the way they view the world, others and themselves. These changes are often recogn

TO LET - PRIME OFFICE LOCATION - FALMOUTH

THERAPY ROOMS BECOMING AVAILABLE IN FALMOUTH TOWN CENTRE - KILLIGREW ST

After many years on Killigrew St in the 3 rooms above E S P R E S S I N I, Lifetime Therapy is moving to a new building on Commercial Road, Penryn - which means that the space we’ve occupied in Falmouth is available to rent from mid April 2026.

We have a long standing relationship with the wonderful landlords and are seeking to help them find excellent new tenants.

The setup is 3 rooms (one with a toilet) - two with sinks - and a small landing. First floor above Falmouth’s most popular coffee shop and eatery, Espressini. (You know - that iconic pink cafe!)

Lifetime Therapy has enjoyed a thriving business here and as a practice, we’ve supported hundreds of clients here. As we move on, we’d like to think that there are other practitioners who would like to inhabit the space in this prime location.

There are good opportunities to let the rooms out to other practitioners to support with/even cover your rental costs. Rent is £800/pcm plus bills.

We are happy to redirect enquiries to the landlord. If interested, please email:

(Please note that this will be unfurnished and a blank canvas for the new tenants).

** An Invitation to Think, Reflect and Deepen Practice – Workshops with Mick Cooper **

Lifetime Therapy is pleased to be hosting two in-depth workshops with counsellor, researcher and writer Mick Cooper on 20th and 21st June 2026, in Truro, Cornwall.

Mick is widely known for his work in existential therapy, pluralistic practice and the therapeutic relationship. These workshops offer a rare opportunity to spend time engaging with ideas that go beyond technique and into the heart of what therapy is really about.

Across the two days, Mick will be running the following workshops:

** Existential Therapy **
This workshop explores the existential foundations of therapeutic work: questions of meaning, freedom, responsibility and uncertainty, and how we meet the givens of human life. The focus is on how these themes show up in the therapy room—not as abstract philosophy, but as lived experience, for both clients and practitioners.

** Goals in Therapy **
This workshop looks closely at the role of goals in therapy: how they are shaped, negotiated, resisted or avoided. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, Mick invites reflection on whose goals matter, when goals support the work, when they may limit it, and how to work collaboratively and ethically with clients’ intentions for therapy.

Both workshops are reflective, relational and grounded in practice. They are suited to counsellors, psychotherapists, trainees and anyone interested in the deeper questions that sit beneath therapeutic work.

** Booking **
Places can be booked directly through Lifetime Therapy’s website:

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Mick to Cornwall and to creating a thoughtful, engaged learning space over these two days in June.

Why 80/20 Compromises Work Better Than 50/50

Christmas can be a busy and emotionally charged time. With family commitments, traditions, social expectations, and limited time, it’s common for different people to want different things — often all at once. How we navigate those differences can say a lot about how we approach compromise.

Compromise is essential in any healthy relationship, but expecting everything to be split 50/50 doesn’t always reflect real life. Some things matter more to one person than the other — and that’s where the idea of an 80/20 compromise comes in.

Sometimes one person gets 80% of the outcome, while the other gives a little more. What makes it fair is that both people are equally willing to do this over time. The balance isn’t in each decision, but across the relationship as a whole.

This approach helps both people feel successful, rather than one winning and the other losing. It also challenges the idea that the loudest or most dominant voice should decide what happens. Asking, listening, and negotiating aren’t weaknesses — they’re how fairness is built.

When both parties are committed to giving when it matters, compromise stops feeling like a loss and starts feeling like progress.
