Truro Lawn Tennis Club Truro Lawn Tennis Club, Newbridge, Truro
Head Coach: Ryan Fern
6 outdoor courts: 4 all weather, 2 Ac The clubhouse overlooks our six courts.

Our 350 members think it’s the best - and friendliest - tennis club in Cornwall. They surely can’t all be wrong - but please come along and judge for yourself. You’ll find us in a beautiful sheltered valley on the outskirts of the city of Truro. Two courts are acrylic, four are all-weather, and all are floodlit, ensuring year-round tennis even on those rare occasions when Cornwall isn't sunny and dry! And whether you are seeking a sociable game, serious matchplay, or a new sporting opportunity for your children – look no further. Meet other members at the Friday or Monday evenings or Saturday afternoon open sessions, play a set or two, and then relax on the sundeck with something cool from the bar. You can also play at an open session are on Wednesday mornings. Or join one of the mens or ladies teams competing in Cornwall Leagues (modesty forbids…but they are pretty successful, winning the Mens and Ladies 2010 Premier Summer Leagues, the Morton Nance, Booth, and Holman Cups, and making a clean sweep at the County Cup Finals in mid-September). Or sign up your youngsters for the Saturday morning play and practice sessions or the Thursday evening competitive play run by professional club coach Ryan Fern. Whatever your on-court aspirations – we hope to see you soon.

Some fantastic performances from the Truro players in the Play Your Way To Wimbledon last week. In an event held at the prestigious All England Club it was a great opportunity to go up against fellow county winners as well as making lovely memories.
First up was the juniors with Jess Louw in the 14s event and Jonny Cattran and his partner Antonio in the 18s boys doubles, after both picking up very good wins and performances in the round robin boxes they both just came up short to qualify into the next round.
Sophie Ayres and Katia Watkins went in the Girls 18u doubles and played superbly to get out of the boxes and went as far as the semi- final unfortunately losing in a match tie-break.
Next up was the Adult men’s with Ned Harris and Ross Dowler, who again played some great all court tennis on the beautiful grass courts and had some wins but unfortunately came up just short by a few points to qualify for the knock out stages.

Overall all players should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved over the last 4 months to qualify through Truro Tennis Club then won the Regional round and then finished off on the amazing grass courts at Wimbledon.
What a fantastic journey you’ve all been on.
Congratulations to you all 🎾🎉🎾🎉🎾🎉

Summer American Doubles Tournament ☀️🎾
Last Saturday we had an amazing afternoon of tennis in one of our American Doubles Tournament with over 26 players getting on court.
Of course a big thanks to all who helped to superbly organise and run the event. As well as to everyone who turned out in the glorious sunshine and helped to create such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

A top‑of‑the‑table thriller last night as Truro Ladies C travelled to Wadebridge B, with the league title in Division 2 East on the line.

The opening round delivered two nail‑biters, both ending in match tie‑breaks.
Chloe & Sarah fought hard, losing a tight first set on a tie‑break, then powering through the second 6–2. In the MTB they led early, but Wadebridge clawed back to take it 10–6.

On the next court, Davina & Margaret dropped the first set 6–4, then turned the second around 7–5. The MTB was pure drama — slipping behind, facing four match points, saving all of them, then finally taking it 13–11.

With one win each and three sets apiece, the reverse matches were crucial. Both teams’ first pairs won, leaving everything level… except for one tiny detail.

Truro edged it by a single game — 38 to 37 — to claim the match and extend their unbeaten run to 11.
What a night. What a team. 💛🎾
