A busy evening of cup cricket for our St Erme youth teams on Tuesday, with one fantastic win and one game unfortunately cut short by the weather. 🏏🌦️

👏 Our Under 11s produced a superb all-round performance to secure a victory away at Grampound Road in the Cornwall Youth Cricket League Under 11 Cup.

After a brilliant effort in the field, St Erme bowled the hosts out for just 36 in 11.4 overs. Alfie Tatlow was outstanding with incredible figures of 5 wickets for 0 runs, while Finlay Denning and Hamish Awdry both claimed two wickets apiece.

The chase was completed in just six overs, with Toby Heard smashing an unbeaten 13 from only five balls and Finlay Denning finishing 10 not out as St Erme reached 38-1 for a 9 wicket win.

Well done to everyone involved on a fantastic team performance! 💪

Meanwhile, our Under 15s made the trip to Truro for their cup tie, but unfortunately the weather had the final say.

Earlier in the evening, St Erme posted a competitive 111-7 from their 20 overs, thanks to an excellent retired unbeaten 51 from Tom Bell, including seven fours and two sixes.

Truro had reached 60-2 in reply after 11.1 overs, with Benjamin Musgrove and Ned Tinkler both taking wickets, before rain closed in and forced the evenly poised match to be abandoned.

Well played to all of our young players and thank you to the coaches, volunteers and parents for your continued support.

A superb all-round team performance from St Erme's 3rd XI saw them secure a convincing 75-run victory away to Ladock 2nd XI in Cornwall Cricket League Division 7 Central on Saturday. 💪🏏

After winning the toss and electing to bat, St Erme posted a competitive 196-4 from their 40 overs. Brayden Masters led the way with an outstanding 79, striking 11 fours and two sixes, while James Kerswell finished unbeaten on 37. Useful contributions also came from Dave Moses (16), Henry Denning (15*) and Carne Michell (11).

In reply, Ladock were bowled out for 121 in 31.4 overs. Matt Pearson and Brayden Masters both claimed two wickets, while Carne Michell, Joseph Nicholson, Bella Clapp, Imogen Bailey and Jack Shephard all chipped in with a wicket each. A run out completed an excellent team effort in the field.

The victory saw contributions throughout the side, with bat and ball, to deliver another excellent result for the 3rd XI which sends up to second in the league standings.

Congratulations to everyone involved on a very good team performance. 👏

Our 2nd XI were unable to make home advantage count on Saturday as they went down by 105 runs to Troon 1st XI in Cornwall Cricket League Division 4 West.

After winning the toss and electing to field, St Erme worked hard to dismiss Troon for 208 in 43.4 overs. Adam Rodda proved the main obstacle with an excellent century, but there were wickets throughout the innings for the home side. Jamie Clapp, Alfie Tangye, Maxwell Hill and Colin Tinkler all claimed two wickets apiece, while Tom Bell and Ned Tinkler chipped in with one each.

In reply, St Erme found themselves under early pressure but Charlie Mitchell fought back superbly with a hard-hitting 42, including two sixes. Ned Tinkler added 23 and Colin Tinkler contributed 16, but regular wickets halted the chase as the side were eventually bowled out for 103.

The team will be looking to bounce back in their next Division 4 West fixture.

A dominant all-round performance our 1st XI secured a comprehensive 203-run victory away to Camborne 2nd XI in Cornwall Cricket League Division 2 West on Saturday. 💪🏏

After winning the toss and electing to bat, St Erme piled on an impressive 313-4 from their 45 overs. Jack Evans led the way with a superb unbeaten 118, while Daniel Foulds added 64 and Callum Edgcombe struck a fluent 50. Kyle Van Rooyen also got the innings off to a strong start with 36.

In reply, Camborne were bowled out for 110 in 30.2 overs. Kyle Van Rooyen completed an excellent all-round display with figures of 3-9, while Idrees Safi and Callum Edgcombe both claimed two wickets. Wickets were also shared by Giles Francis, William Blackburn and Sean Hooper.

The victory keeps St Erme firmly in the promotion hunt, with the team remaining 2nd in the Division 2 West table, just behind leaders Mullion 1st XI.
