This is Piper

The youngest member of our equine therapy herd, and full of honesty and expression.

Piper is incredibly in tune with her surroundings and gives very clear signals about how she’s feeling. She doesn’t hide her reactions, which makes her a powerful teacher in the therapy space. When something feels uncertain or overwhelming, Piper responds — offering immediate, genuine feedback that helps people become more aware of their own energy, emotions, and boundaries.

Working with Piper encourages self-reflection, clear communication, and emotional regulation. She reminds us that it’s okay to feel, to react, and to learn how to navigate those responses in a healthy way.

This is woody!

He is the oldest member of the group, Woody brings a calm, steady presence that instantly puts people at ease.

With his gentle nature and patient soul, Woody has a special way of connecting with everyone he meets. Whether it’s someone feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a quiet moment, he’s always there — listening without judgment and offering comfort just by being himself.

In equine therapy, horses like Woody play an incredible role. They mirror emotions, encourage trust, and help build confidence in ways words sometimes can’t.

Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is a hands-on approach to developing thinking, communication, and social skills.

Through simple, ground-based activities with horses, people get the chance to practice problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership in real time. Horses are incredibly responsive to body language and emotion, so they offer immediate, honest feedback without saying a word.

That feedback can help build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence. Research suggests EAL can also support skills like communication, focus, and overall self-efficacy.

It’s not just spending time with horses—it’s learning through experience, in a way that really sticks.

Towan equine therapies has been created from a deep belief that healing doesn’t always happen in words—it can happen in connection.

Horses have an incredible ability to mirror emotion, build trust, and create a sense of calm that many people struggle to find elsewhere.

I’m proud to offer a space where people can slow down, feel safe, and reconnect—with themselves and the world around them.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning 🌿
