✨ August reflection ✨
If I’m honest, August hasn’t been a month of huge leaps forward.
And I think I’m finally okay with that.
There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes, both in life and in Simply Shine. Family has needed my attention, I’ve needed more rest, and my energy hasn’t always been available for work in the way I would have liked.
So instead of pushing through, I’ve been learning to work with what I have.
Some days that’s meant making progress with my business.
Some days it’s been tidying things up, refining ideas or working behind the scenes on my offers and website.
And some days it’s simply been resting.
But actually, when I look back, I think August has given me something more valuable than a long list of things ticked off.
Clarity.
I’ve been getting clearer about what Simply Shine is really about and the women I want to support. Clearer about the heart of my work. And perhaps most importantly, clearer about the kind of business I want to build.
One that doesn’t require me to abandon myself to grow it.
That feels especially important because so much of what I teach is about self-worth, emotional wellbeing, honouring our energy and creating a more intentional life.
I can’t build that kind of business by constantly pushing myself beyond my own capacity.
I’ve also had some really personal reminders this month about how much I’ve changed. There was a time when I struggled to believe that my needs mattered. I would have pushed through, put everyone else first, and felt guilty for needing to rest. Now I’m learning to recognise that rest isn't something I have to earn. That slowing down doesn't mean I'm failing. And that progress can be quiet.
So perhaps that’s what August has really been about for me. Not doing more. Not rushing. But coming back to what matters. To myself. To my purpose.
And to the kind of life and business I actually want to create.
And honestly, that feels like pretty good progress to me. 🌿
What has August taught you? 💛
