Nicole is our in-house sports rehabilitator and sports massage therapist. She is based at CrossFit Trowbridge and can help to keep you in tip top condition through manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation exercises 😍

She helps people of all ages and backgrounds to maintain health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain using movement, manual based therapeutic interventions and exercise programmes 🥳

If you are suffering from an injury (acute or chronic), aches and pain, stress, tension, reduced mobility or simply want to keep any niggles at bay, she can help to manage and resolve your problem and get you back to doing what you love! 🤩

There’s nothing like our coaches in the fitness industry outside of . You may find them as one-offs in sport coaches or retired strength-and-conditioning coaches, but you do not find them en masse at any other “chain” of gyms or emerging from any other system of credentialing. No one who is coached by a great CrossFit coach will confuse that experience with what’s on offer from any other fitness company, service, or app.

The act of coaching or training is very different from simply leading a class. The CrossFit coach is not a cheerleader. The act of coaching is deliberate, focused attention: looking at one person at a time, considering their specific context, caring deeply about their goals and challenges, and helping them progress step by step so they can discover their true potential.

Tomorrow we have one of our Benchmark workouts: “Nasty Girls” 🥳

"Nasty Girls"
3 Rounds for time:
50 Squats
7 Muscle-ups
10 Hang Power Cleans 60/40kg

There are scaled options for the muscle ups: pull ups & dips or jumping pull ups and push ups and/or lighter hang power cleans 🤩

We last did Nasty girls on the 15th May, if you want to check back on WodBoard for your previous score… go check that out 🔥

So why do we do benchmarks? CrossFit should be measurable, observable and repeatable.
- To know your current ability we need to measure where you are.
- To measure performance we need to repeat these tests over time, to check you are improving.
- There are many ways you can improve for example, your time might get faster or keeping your time the same but going heavier or increasing skill level.

The more comments, notes etc you make on WodBoard, the better. As a reminder for the next time you do it 😍

We have seen LOADS of “1st” RMUs recently, so we are really looking forward to seeing some of you put these into a benchmark! 👀

💥Why Do We Retest Workouts?💥

What makes CrossFit so enjoyable and unique is the constant variance within our training! However, I’m sure you have seen that we have been programming our benchmark workouts and repeating other workouts as well, including ‘The Open 2019, 19.1’ tomorrow, so why do we do this?… 🤔

Well CrossFit prides itself on being an “evidence-based fitness programme”, meaning it is measurable, observable and repeatable! By repeating workouts, we are able to compare and generate more data, so that we can provide evidence that we are getting fitter, healthier and stronger 😍

By retesting workouts it also allows you to see where you are making improvements and progress, or perhaps which areas need a little more attention! You can use this information as your inspiration to keep striving for improvement! 👊🏻🤩
