Today was our first day in 11s competitive football and it was up against one of the toughest in the league, the boys never hid and for 60/65 minutes gave everything to the game, passing, tackling, off the ball runs and some great skills, was really great to see the progress we have made over the last couple of months.
Bonnyton Thistle Blacks 2014s took the lead in a very end to end first half with small marginal errors cost us to go down 2-0, we rallied and before we knew it we had got two goals from Charlie’s powerful running and dribbling past players that took him in on goal to slot a lovely finish away and again Charlie popped up with the ball but this time he slotted in Jacob who had a powerful run into the box and as calm as you like found the back of the net, we really had the grit between the teeth but energy dropped and with that another drop in concentration saw Bonnyton retake the lead and extend it.
A lot of effort has went into running in pre-season and again today but we just come up short and take the Loss, we look to this game tho as the bench mark going forward because in reality the final score really looks worse than it actually is. We go again on Tuesday and we remember the positive to take away from today

Referees player of the match was Archie Kerr, who took the game and put in the performance we all know he has in the locker outstanding in the tackle and his understanding of his position sponsored by The Auchans, Dundonald
Coaches player of the match was Charlie Moffat who dazzled all day as a lone striker he held up the ball and took on the back line, never letting up shows his pure love of getting on the ball to play football.
A special mention to the referee today, without them there is no game to be played and enjoyed, our ref today is a credit to himself. thanks again to bonnyton for the game and enjoy the rest of the season at 11s Ayrshire Youth Football League Public
