🌟 Classes at Mearns Kirk – Every Wednesday
A space where kids build the skills that make every sport easier, more fun, and more confidence‑boosting.

Children thrive when they learn the foundations first. Before they ever need to master a football pass, a gymnastics routine, or a rugby tackle, they need the core movement skills that make all of those things possible.

🧠 Why our sessions matter more than early sports specialisation
At this age, the biggest benefits come from developing:
- Balance and coordination

West Kilbride is buzzing right now — our classes are filling faster than ever, and it’s no surprise why. Kids are having an absolute blast while building real confidence, coordination, and movement skills that stay with them for life.

🌍🐘 From Animal Kingdom to… Mini Athletics Jungle Week! 🐘🌍

So… this happened on holiday.
Dragged up on stage at the Lion King show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom… in front of hundreds of people… to make my best elephant sound. (I will let you be the judge 🤣)

Meanwhile, back home in Scotland, Mini Athletics were running Jungle Week — where our little athletes were pretending to be elephants, swinging through imaginary vines, and looking after all sorts of wild animals.

Couldn’t have been more fitting.
One of us was on a stage… the other in Mini athletics Hall… but we were all being elephants in our own way.

Moments like this remind me why I love what we do:
Kids (and apparently adults) learn best when they’re allowed to play, imagine, and be a bit silly. That’s where confidence grows.

2025 has been an incredible year for Mini Athletics Ayrshire and East Renfrewshire. We’ve grown into new venues, welcomed a fantastic new coach, and—most importantly—supported so many new children as they begin their journey toward strong physical literacy, confidence, and a love of movement that will stay with them for life.

And we’re only just getting started.

In 2026, we’re expanding again with even more coaches and new territories, bringing our imaginative, high‑energy classes to even more families across our communities. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now truly is the perfect time. Your child’s physical literacy is one of the greatest gifts you can give them—building coordination, resilience, social skills, and a joyful relationship with being active.
