This morning has been a busy morning in virtual physiotherapy and online appts.

I have spanned geography and time zones, treated and diagnosed everything from a hamstring tear to endometriosis and pelvic hurdle pain.

We are writing our return to work polices and working out what the new normal will like and I can’t wait to get back in to use to get my patients fit and active again, but until then we are here and happy to help.

DM or email [email protected] and let us guide you back to full fitness.

Many of us including myself have increased our running recently due to lockdown and COVID-19.

I am noticing that there is an increase in running and overuse injuries and lower limb dysfunction.

It is important to understand that when you change your normal activity and loading patterns you are predisposed to picking up a tendon or over use injury.

I would stronger recommend investing in new trainers and checking the support and stability of the footwear your are running in.

For our customers that have had a running assessment or purchased a pair of orthotics from us in the past, due to COIVID we are are able to offer you an additional pair at a 30% reduction .

Quote EJP30 when ordering your additional pair .

For many of us this is a period of unprecedented flux, uncertainty and anxiety.

It can be helpful to break worries and concerns down in to those that we have some control over and those that are completely beyond our control.

Try writing down all your current concerns on post it notes and seeing which you are able to move in to the circle of control. Many may be left in the circle of concern. For the most part these are likely to be big worries that we can do little about e.g. political, economical concerns.

Look again.. are there any that could be moved to the circle of influence? For example you may be worried about an elderly relative that lives miles away. You can't control their day to day life but could you ask them what they need and arrange for some shopping to be delivered to them.

Some things that most of us will have a level of control over:

- prioritising good hygiene
- maintaining good hydration (do NOT underestimate this)
- choosing healthy foods where we can
- exercising as appropriate for your level of fitness
- listening to our bodies and resting when we need to
- prioritising sleep
- getting fresh air when we can
- communicating our needs and asking for help when needed
- checking in on family, friends and neighbours
- using relaxation techniques such as meditation (try an app such as Headspace or Calm) EFT (try YouTube) acupuncture or massage

Any other helpful tips?
