You don’t start training to be a strong mum. You become stronger doing it. 💪🌸

A fab Mother’s Day Bootcamp this morning with lots of energy, smiles and hard work from this fab bunch and mum and daughter working out together 😊.

It was a themed session as a reminder you are strong for every day life, carrying the shopping, Mum’s taxi duties, washing, making meals and are strong role models.

It’s a tough gig being a mum but also a brilliant one so celebrate your mum and give her an extra big squeeze today. Thinking of and sending love to you if you are missing your mum today. I’m missing mine too 💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all you incredible mums out there. You are the absolute best!

▪️What weight should I start with if new to strength training?

Start lighter rather than heavier. First and foremost it’s about mastering form. Get comfortable and confident using weights.

It should feel:
✔️ Controlled
✔️ Challenging
✔️ Stable

▪️Will I need a mix of weights?

To begin with no. Use your light weights for a few weeks to focus on technique and form. These will be challenging enough if you’ve not used weights before!
If you are working out at home you will need a mix of weights as you progress.

▪️How will I know when I’m ready to move up in weight?

When your weights don’t feel challenging for those last few repetitions you’ll know it’s time to increase the weights for some exercises. This is when it’s time to move up.

▪️What if I don’t have any weights?
Start without! You can use bodyweight or grab a couple of tins from your cupboard or I’ll loan you a pair to get you started.

What is important is starting.

Muscle is your protection.
Strength is your insurance.
This is independence training and your future self will thank you.
