I teach fitness and nutrition, and I’m a mum of four. I know meal prep can be brilliant, when you have the time and it genuinely makes your week easier.

But “just meal prep” is often said to women who are already doing the food shopping, making everyone else’s meals and trying to work out what’s for dinner every single night.

Sometimes the most useful plan is not five perfectly packed containers. It’s knowing you can make eggs on toast, a jacket potato with mince, or overnight oats when the day has got away from you.

Healthy eating has to work on your busiest day, not only on the Sunday when you had three spare hours.

What’s your go-to dinner when you’ve got absolutely no time? 👀

Before thyroid cancer, I honestly had no idea how much this tiny gland actually controlled.

I didn’t know it affected everything from your temperature and energy levels to your heart rate, mood and metabolism.

I didn’t know that you could live without it—but would need medication every single day for the rest of your life.

I didn’t know that part of my treatment would mean deliberately suppressing my TSH, leaving me dealing with symptoms such as palpitations, sweating, exhaustion and feeling completely wired but drained at the same time.

And I definitely didn’t know how many different types, variants and experiences of thyroid cancer there were.

People often call it “the good cancer” because many thyroid cancers have a high survival rate. But a good prognosis doesn’t make the operations, radioactive iodine, isolation, complications, lifelong medication or fear of recurrence feel good.

Thyroid cancer has affected so much more than my thyroid, and many of the hardest parts are the things nobody else can see.

September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month. Please save and share this post because you never know who might need to read it. 🦋🦋

First full week back at school, and honestly, I still don’t know whether I’m coming or going 😂

New school routines, different club times, work piling up, endless washing and four children who all seem to need to be in different places at the same time.

Every September I think I’ll suddenly become super organised once they’re back at school. Then the first full week arrives and I remember it takes time for everyone to settle into a new routine including me.

If your fitness has already slipped down the priority list, don’t panic and decide you’ll start again next month.

Choose two workouts you can realistically fit in. Keep your meals simple. Get outside for a walk when you can. Then build from there once life starts feeling less chaotic.

You don’t need to completely transform your routine this week. You just need one or two small things that help you feel like yourself again.

I’m a fitness instructor, but I’m also a mum of four. I know “just make time” isn’t always helpful advice.

So if you’re scrolling Instagram looking for some motivation or realistic ideas, you’re in the right place. We’ll work it out together 💚

Comment RESET if the first week back has completely thrown you too!

Half term can completely throw your normal routine out and as a mum of four, I know this all too well 😂

The children are at home, the food shopping disappears twice as quickly, someone constantly needs taking somewhere and you’re trying to keep everyone entertained while still keeping up with work and everything else.

Suddenly, the workouts you normally manage don’t fit so easily.

As a fitness instructor, I could tell you to “make yourself a priority” or “just find the time,” but as a parent, I know it isn’t always that simple.

Some weeks I can train exactly as planned. Other weeks I have to shorten my sessions, move things around or accept that life is too busy and take an extra rest day.

That doesn’t mean I’ve failed or lost all my progress.

Fitness doesn’t have to be all or nothing. A 20-minute workout counts. A walk with the children counts. Moving your session to another day counts. Resting because you’re genuinely exhausted also counts.

The most important thing is not allowing one disrupted week to become the reason you stop altogether.

Half term might change your routine, but it doesn’t have to end it. Do what you can, let go of the guilt and come back when life settles down again.

Comment RESET if you’re ready to get back into your routine 💚

Some days training feels hard. Getting out for the run feels hard. Finding the time when you’re juggling work, children and everything else feels hard.

But being able to move my body, challenge myself and work towards something I want is a privilege and one I never want to take for granted.

Hard doesn’t always mean something is going wrong. Sometimes it means you’re becoming stronger than you were before 💚

August, you were busy, chaotic and so much fun 🤍

We celebrated both Summa and Arthur’s birthdays, enjoyed an amazing family trip to Greece, then swapped the sunshine and swimming pools for a camping adventure in Dorset 🥳🇬🇷🏕️

There were lots of late nights, plenty of food, laughter, celebrations, far too much washing and, of course, plenty of family arguments along the way 😂 Because it wouldn’t be a family holiday without someone falling out over something completely ridiculous!

But most importantly, we had some much-needed time together as a family and made so many lovely memories.

It’s been a full-on month, but one I’m very grateful for. Now I’m ready to get back into a routine, reset and see what the next month brings.

August, you were a good one, let’s go, September 🍂✨
