It's time to announce our new Christmas Campaign for 2023 as we hopefully come together as a League to make a real difference to young people and families across the City.
Christmas can be a difficult time for some especially with the rise of the cost of living being felt all over the Country currently.
Myself and Andy Hill have been discussing this for a while and this year we have decided to, with your help, support a local group in their attempts to give families a helping hand over the festive period
Better Together - Community Support Group for Stoke on Trent and NuL are a fabulous group of volunteers who offer workshops and activities for all ages as well as offering food parcels and a non binding advice service.
Their Christmas Campaign this year is aimed at getting toys, gift sets, selection boxes, non perishable food items and toiletries to the families that otherwise may not get any.
You can take your donations to them direct or we will be having a collection of donations at our December meeting at Burslem CC on December 12th.
I know times are hard for lots of people these days but I'm sure that if every club can find a way to donate something then we at The Coors Sunday Football League - Stoke on Trent can make a real difference this Christmas.
Please share far and wide as this isn't restricted to League members.
If you feel you can help then we would love to get you on board.

Back in league action for the first time in 2 months and the lads carried on exactly where they had left off, Making it 4 wins from 4 games and still the only team in the division not to face defeat.

The visitors saw more of the ball in the opening stages of the game and had chances to take the lead in the tie but it was Black C**k who struck first following a set piece and held their 1 goal advantage going into the break.

A big performance was needed from Castle in the second half especially as the Black C**k captain kept insisting "You don't know how to lose" (Spoiler: he was correct.) Ben Glover made it 1-1 then 2-1 and then grabbed his hatrick to make it 3-1 and showed a real captains performance, Ash Townsend then chipped with the Castle 4th to seal the 3 points.

BUTT LANE WHITE STAR 2

The lads were playing in yet another cup game yesterday after Butt Lane thankfully agreed to reverse the fixture with our home pitch being unplayable.

The game got off to a sloppy start and Castle found themselves a goal down within the opening 20 minutes, A great response saw Castle equalise mere minutes later through Alex Saunders to bring the tie even again.

Butt Lane were up for it though and got themseves back infront before the half time whistle leaving Castle with all the work to do in the second half.

The perfomance was better in the final 45 minutes but still a far cry from what we have grown accustomed too. Thankfully Alex Worrall grabbed an equaliser and then Ryan Downs put Castle ahead in the tie for the first time late into the game in which the team hung onto to win 3-2.

Another cup game yesterday saw Castle come from behind twice against fellow Division 1 side Staffs Knot to reach the next round of the Sentinel Sunday Cup.

The hosts found themselves in the unfamiliar position of being a goal down within the first 10 minutes before Matt Harrison grabbed an equalizer. Castle then went another goal down with the home side admittingly still stuck in first gear. Matt Harrison seemed to take that personally and single-handedly began the Castle fightback grabbing his 2nd, 3rd and 4th goals of the game before the half time whistle to put the hosts 4-2 to the good.

The second half saw a handful of chances for both teams but no clinical finishing to change the scoreline which gets Castle a home draw against Butt Lane Whie Star in the next round.

Castle booked their place in the next round of the Autonet cup yesterday with a strong second half showing against White Hart.

Alex Worrall put the hosts ahead in the tie and Castle were dissapointed it wasn't more after another goal was adjudged to be offside.

The second half saw Castle switch up the gears with Alex Worrall scoring his 2nd and 3rd goals of the game to grab himself a hat-trick and put some breathing space between themselves and their opponents , This was to be short lived though as Castle gave away a needless penalty which was converted to make it 3-1.

Ben Glover carried on with his good goalscoring form to restore the 3 goal advantage to make it 4-1 before Josh Fox got the Castle 5th from a corner in the latter stages of the game securing the cup holders progression to the next round.

Castle carried on their unbeaten league campaign with a thrilling 5-2 win at home against Clayton Redgate this morning.

The hosts found themselves a goal to the good early on after Ben Glover hammered home following some fine team play down the wing.

Castle were then handed a penalty after the Clayton keeper bought down Ash Townsend in the box when the when winger was through on goal, Ben Glover stepped up and buried it into the bottom left corner.

Another good move by castle resulted in a Clayton defender put the ball into his own net to make it 3-0 before the half time break.

The second half saw more of the same from Castle and captain fantastic Ben Glover got his hat trick with another fine finish before hitting his 4th of the game not long after.

Castle were then reduced to 10 men which allowed Clayton into the game for the first time, 2 goals for them followed but it was too little too late as the hosts took all three points after a spirited 2nd half performance.

Castle continued their winning ways with a good away victory over Stoke Town yesterday. Matt Harrison opened the scoring early on follwing a great 1-2 down the left side.

Stoke got themselves back into the game after a lull in Castle concentration presented them with the opportunity to equalise.

Matt Harrison restored the lead very soon after once he beat his man and found the inside corner of the goal on a tight angle, Captain Ben Glover put Castle 3-1 up before the break after a great team move was finished with a ferocious strike from the edge of the area.

Castle went 4-1 up in the 2nd half with Matt Harrison completing his hat-trick after getting in behind the Stoke defence and calmly slotting the ball home.

Stoke scored a late consolation goal in the dying stages of the game with a good header from a corner but it was too late for any sort of comeback and Castle claimed all 3 points.

The lads got off to a flyer in their first game in Division 1 yesterday morning, Beating Shamblers 7-1 at our shared pitch at the Michellin Athletics Club.

Alex Saunders scored the first goal of the campaign in the opening stages of the game, with Ash Townsed grabbing the second following some good work in the opposition box and Alex Worrall put Castle 3 goals to the good before the half time break.

Shamblers tried to turn the game around with an early 2nd half goal before Alex Worrall restored the 3 goal advantage with a stunning strike after cutting in from the right hand side, Matt Bainbridge got a deserved goal for himself and the Castle 5th after finding space in the box, Matt Harrison cooly finished for the 6th goal after Ryan Stokes pinched the ball in midfield and made a surging run forward before finding his open teammate. Kevyn Davies finished the scoring with a thumping effort from the edge of the area which left the Shamblers keeper no chance.

A very good perfomance from the lads with a scoreline which did them justice. 1 down, 19 to go!

Castle continued there strong start to pre season with an 8-1 win over Queensbury this morning, Alex Worrall and Ben Glover both got a Hat-Tricks with Alex Saunders scoring the other 2!
