THIS WEEKEND - Basic Cycle Maintenance with Daniel Bates

Learn practical skills to adjust your brakes, gears, and more, so you can enjoy riding your bike safely and comfortably.

Gain confidence to fix basic problems yourself, including roadside repairs during rides.

If you have bike tools or a bike stand, bring them with you. Otherwise these will be provided.

Dan has been repairing bikes and all-sorts for nearly three decades.

For the last three years he has offered his services professionally as eBeics Eryri in Tregarth, where he repairs and upgrades bicycles and e-bikes.

At this day course you will learn the practical skills to adjust your brakes, gears, and more, so you can enjoy riding your bike safely and comfortably, to feel confident to fix basic problems yourself, including roadside repairs during rides.

I'm away from the 15th of December for a month, the last day I can realistically accept a bike to the workshop will be around the Tuesday 10th, for a short turnaround by the Friday.

Award for the most stretch chain ever (non-ebike) goes to the owner of the blue Scott Aspect!

It might not look like much, but worn chain is indicated by this tool dropping into the, link between the rollers (left side of image) ... the chain is so stretched the tool is propped up by the next roller, which is rarely seen in this workshop..

I gave the advice a year or so ago to get maximum use out of the drivetrain, it wasn't worth swapping out the chain then as is was too far gone, and now it's totally f*cked! Commuting all-weathers hardcore for the win well done them.

Really awful controller on a cheap Chinese ebike.. relatively thin PCB traces meant for power, crap components: at least now upgraded with somewhat more bombproof MOSFETs, three of which had previous failed-to-short. I love MOSFETs that work ... MOSFETs for the win.
