If you can’t lower it under control don’t lift it in the first place.

It’s not big and it’s not clever. you might think your going to get stronger from doing that but the truth is your just hindering your progress,

If your looking to grow muscles then stop dropping the weights. lower them under control by doing this you increase the chance to cause micro-tears to your muscle which in turn causes your body to repair these tears. when your body repairs it’s self it will make that micro-tear stronger and bigger not for it to happen again. This is how you become stronger and bigger

Let’s start the week of right. What’s that one goal you’re going to start this week and carry it on to create a habit

Let’s go over some ground rules.

A good workout is NOT....

❌Trying to sweat as much as you can
❌Excessive cardio
❌Hurting the next day

Things this can cause...

✅ Ruin your joints
✅ Increase your risk of serious injury
✅ Decrease the frequency and consistency of your training.
✅ Cause an addiction to chasing that calorie burn

Of course, there is a time and place for some workouts like this but doing this day in day out is not going to get you the body you desire.

If you have a body goal in mind, you need to find out what it takes to get that body and train in that way. For example, if you want to look like a rugby player train like a rugby player, if you want to look like a runner train like a runner if you want to look like a CrossFitter train like a CrossFitter.. you get the picture.

Don’t fall into the trap that shed loads of cardio will get you the body your chasing, cardio is a very good tool to help you get there but it isn’t always the answer.

Hitting the weights is where your going to build the body your looking for.

I never liked to train shoulders as I knew it was a weakness of mine so i shied away from it and stayed in my comfort zone

“Your comfort zone is a beautiful place but it’s a place where nothing grows”

But now after a few weeks of training them consistently they are quickly becoming my favourite muscle group.

You need to STOP defining your success by the numbers shown on the scales.

Weight loss is just a small part of your fitness journey and whilst it can be a good tool to monitor progress,it shouldn’t be the only measurement you rely on.

There are several ways you can monitor progress, visuals are one of the best ways that help you to see change including progress pictures and measuring your body using a tape. Try to feel the differences in your clothes, your energy levels and your mood. These are also massive factors when trying to identify your progress.

When we go shopping for clothes we never say I can’t wear that top/dress/trousers because I weigh to much so why do we fixate on weight?

This goes back to that famous saying.

“You can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”

Coaches can give you the best tools out there to get you to where you want to be. But if you don’t put the work in those tools are useless.

Getting the results is in your hands, your coach can provide you with the best workout, an amazing nutrition plan, all the support and advice teach you everything you need to know.

But if YOU don’t put all that into practice and put in the effort the results simply won’t show.

If getting the body of our dreams was easy then we would all be walking around with our perfect body, but the truth is it takes time effort and consistency,

Not seeing results that you want?

We are all on a journey and we are all learning. Its okay to be wrong, its only then you can learn from your mistakes. But how can this journey be easier? What are the 4 most common reasons your not seeing results?

NUTRITION- what you put into your body contributes to reaching your goals. For maximum muscle growth you need to be eating a calorie surplus. For maximum weight loss you need to be eating a calorie deficiet. Either way, you need to fuel your body.

TRAINING- are your workouts really working? Are you pushing yourself? Progressive overload and high volume!! Pull an ugly face, sweat like hell and embrace it. Dont make it easy or you wont see change.

TIME- progress takes TIME!! Dont expect to see changes in a few days! Take progress photos weekly and compare these, dont always rely on the scales otherwise you could end up being disheartened... Weight changes fluctuate but visible changes and the way your clothes fit are a better indicator of change!

CONSISTENCY- without this the above goes out the window. Be consistent with your diet, training and allow yourself time to grow. Follow this and youll see the results you desire.

Reasons why you aren’t getting the results you want.

You aren’t being consistent. To get the results your after you need to to pick a path and stick to it. Being good Monday to Friday and then going crazy on a weekend eating all the food. Or you struggle to see results and decide to go crazy and cut your calories to the extreme only to burn out and order a takeaway.

Your to busy obsessing with what everyone else is doing constantly swapping and changing from diet to diet and from cardio to weights. Consistency is key you need to find a diet you enjoy and a workout program you can have fun with and that’s specific for what your goal is. Stop looking at what others are doing and concentrate on yourself.

You have nothing and no one holding you accountable, having someone there to to guide you and keep you on the right path is to invaluable, this can help take the guess work out. Give you motivation when you need it, and give you reassurance. Having someone to guide you can make reaching your goals 10x more likely. If you can afford a coach then try and hold yourself more accountable with tracking your progress through pictures and waist measurements on a weekly basses this way if you’ve not been as consistent it will show and vice versa if you’ve been consistent the results will be there.
