The dancers learn traditional highland dances as well as choreographed dances to modern music. All dancers have the option to compete and take examinations. We are also available for performances. Highland dancing can open up many international and worldwide opportunities and is a great way to make friends and build confidence. About Me

I began highland dancing at the age of 4, and attended my first competition at Dunbar Games in 1999. In 2001, I won my first British championship title at Babies level, and went on to win Scottish & British Championship titles at Juvenile and Junior level, and the Scottish Senior Championship title twice. ​Over the years, I’ve been very fortunate to dance in several countries around the world including France, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Taiwan.

In March 2011, my dance teacher stopped teaching, so at age 15, I opened my own dance school in Tranent. Throughout university, I added extra classes to the timetable, and at one point was teaching 16 classes per week around East Lothian, with over 80 pupils. After securing a graduate job in Glasgow, I reduced the number of classes to 6, with around 50 pupils at present.

I continue to compete, however my real passion lies in teaching, and watching my dancers perform and progress. I love watching my dancers become more confident, create long-lasting friendships and most importantly, enjoying dancing just as much as I do!

The dance school is based in New Winton, East Lothian. We have 3 classes on a Monday adn Friday, with private lessons available on request.
