That’s a wrap on FSUK 2026! 🏁
The year began with a new generation of leads and members stepping into key roles following the graduation of many experienced team members. Since then, we have trained over 40 new recruits and secured the first dedicated workshop in Formula Trinity’s history laying a foundation for everything that comes next. 🔧
Our Internal Combustion team unveiled FTX7 “Bruce” on July 9th before taking an entirely new car to Silverstone and successfully passing scrutineering!
Away from the track, we placed 6th out of 90 teams in the Business Plan Presentation, recognising the strength of the team’s commercial strategy, technical understanding and preparation.
Our Autonomous team also achieved a series of major firsts.
For the first time, Formula Trinity passed every stage of static and dynamic testing and completed both the Autocross and Trackdrive events. The tech stack delivered a flawless Trackdrive performance, completing each lap in approximately 54 seconds and securing 4th place.
The team went on to win the Real World AI event and finish 5th overall, our best-ever result at Formula Student UK! 🏆
These results represent thousands of hours of work from students across every area of the team. From designing components and writing software to manufacturing, fundraising, organising events and preparing presentations, every member played their part.
A huge thank you to our Faculty Advisors, Dave McAuley and Gerry Byrne, for their continued guidance and support. We were also delighted to see Gerry recognised with the 2026 Faculty Advisor Special Contribution Award.
