Waterside Health Bus Launches this September 🚌

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Waterside Health Bus, a new community service provided by the Waterside Primary Care Network, bringing health and wellbeing support closer to local residents.

The Health Bus will begin its fortnightly visiting schedule from the week commencing Monday 21st September, visiting communities and local facilities across the Waterside.

The service has been designed to make it easier for local people to access health checks, preventative health advice, and personalised wellbeing support, right in their own community.

What will the Health Bus offer?

Depending on the location, residents will be able to access a range of support including:

NHS Health Checks
Blood pressure checks
Cardiovascular health and prevention advice
Healthy lifestyle and weight management support
Stop smoking support
Diabetes and prediabetes support
Mental health and wellbeing support
Signposting to NHS and local community services

The locations have been specifically chosen to reach residents living in those communities or using the facilities nearby. The aim is to take health and wellbeing support to people, rather than expecting residents to travel elsewhere to access it.

On Saturday against Hampton & Richmond, Testwood Lakes Sailability were the matchday charity. I have received the following email from them thanking our supporters.

"On behalf of Testwood Lakes Sailability, thank you for the opportunity to advertise our service and have a collection at the match today. The collection totalled £88.39.

Every donation helps us continue to provide dinghy sailing for people with disabilities. This is important this year as we have lost additional sailing days this year due to a very sad event"

It was lovely to have Cash for Kids South Coast, West Sussex & Salisbury as the match day charity last night for AFC Totton match against Dorking Wanderers FC.

Every donation received helps provide support to local children facing poverty, illness, neglect, additional needs and other challenges, ensuring they have access to opportunities many of us take for granted.

Many thanks to everyone at the Snows Stadium last night that helped them raise a fantastic £410.70 👏👏🤩🦌

Yesterday was a day of many 1st’s at the Snows Stadium: 1st AFC Totton home game of the season against Billericay who were playing their 1st match against the Stags. Getting our 1st home win of the season from a last minute winner from Ibby, with his 1st competitive goal for the Stags following goals scored in pre season friendlies. 1st visit of the wonderful Ocean Harmony Chorus who performed various pop up sessions around the ground for pre match & half time entertainment. We also held our 1st Match Birthday party, which is now part of our match day offering - the youngsters had a great day along with being the guard of honour for the teams coming out. Fab day at the Snows Stadium, we go again Tuesday night against Dorking. 🦌🦌
