I have the following spaces for a 4 week block starting in July (08/07)

1 space in my Mat Pilates class @ 11.30am on Tuesdays - Bartley Village Hall
2 x spaces in Mat Pilates class @ 9am on Thursdays - Bartley Village Hall
1 space in Core Barre @9.30am on Fridays - St Matthews Church Hall

Mat Pilates with Core New Core New Forest:
These 45 minute sessions include a variety of exercises performed on the Mat with small equipment. There is an emphasis on activating your deep abdominal or core muscles whilst performing the exercises in our classes, to provide stability and support breathing. The exercises are layered and there is a strong emphasis on progressing at your own pace, safely and with as much information that we can squeeze into each exercise!
All levels

Core Barre:
Strengthening your core is more than just adding some crunches on the end of your workout...

In Core Stability we work on good form and posture, building strength in those muscles that protect our gorgeous spine. We focus on deep transverse abdominal muscles, shoulders, hip flexors and glutes in our exercises, to create a powerhouse!
It is an 45 minute full body work out that fuses Ballet, Pilates and strengthening exercises to give you toned, strong muscles. Low impact but packs a punch! This strength can then be transferred into our day to day life and other training, basically giving us superpowers!!

NEW CLASS STARTING SOON….

A little history…

Joseph Pilates was a physical trainer born in Germany in 1883. Poor health growing up led him to study anatomy, bodybuilding, wrestling, and martial arts, which he then used to develop his own exercise practice, originally called “Controlology.”

He became a prize winning -self defense instructor, gymnast, boxer, and circus performer who believed in healing the body with physical activity rather than traditional medicine.

After World War I broke out, Pilates was stuck in an internment camp on The Isle of Man. He organized daily workouts for others at the camp, including those too injured to get out of bed.

Pilates incorporates exercises designed to bring the muscles of the body into balance, promoting both mobility and strength in the spine and joints and optimizing efficiency.

Pilates can help reduce pain and improve balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and even mood.

When the body is symmetrically aligned and muscles function efficiently, injuries tend to occur less frequently.

The classes are layered so cater for different levels, even if you’ve never tried Pilates before …I will make sure you are supported and guided. I am sure you will fall in love with how it makes you feel within just a few sessions.

Mobility and functional fitness is at the heart of every one of my class plans.
