Built in 1993, Dainton Park has developed into one of the best in the west! Elevated tees offer great views over Dartmoor and the South Hams, tight fairways hug the undulating contours and well protected greens nestle amoung the bunkers and water features. Dainton B team hosted Torquay on a beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon on the 13th June.

The kitchen staff looked after us all with a superb breakfast which the opposition were very complimentary of, and they were also envious of the superb state of the course so many thanks are due to all the staff particularly in the kitchen and in the greenkeepers shed.

We take this 6:1 win with us when we play the return fixture at Torquay on the 27th June and look to further strengthen our position in the league having won 4 of the 5 fixtures so far this season.

Halfway through Opens Week! The course is looking stunning and the green keeping team are hard at work this morning. Our swan family are also continuing to thrive! Tomorrow we have the Texas Scramble Open, followed by Junior Open on Saturday and Mixed Greensomes on Sunday - are you coming?

On Saturday, 6th June, the juniors played round 2 of the junior SDL at Teignmouth in very testing conditions with it being overcast, cold, and very windy.

Playing our first scratch matches of the season, Gabe was first out, having a very close match against his Torquay opponent, unfortunately losing 2-1.

Second out was Ben, again another very close match with Ben winning on the 18th, 1 up, securing us 0.5 bonus point.

The stableford team of Leo Mykhalevych, Oscar Corby-Brown, Harry Fuller, Harry Morris, and Adrian Pratt came in with a respectable score of 115 points in very hard conditions, with our top scorer being Harry Morris with 32 points, which gave us 3rd place on the day.

Our quarterfinal draw in the Basil Steer has been confirmed. We will play Saunton at Oakhampton Golf Course on the 21st June, first tee 3:14. If anyone would like to come and support the juniors they would be more than welcome!

B team suffer their 1st loss of the season.
The Dainton B team took their 100% record to Teignmouth on the 30th May but unfortunately suffered their 1st loss of the season.

Conditions were fantastic with decent amounts of sunshine and little breeze accompanied by an array of several aircraft en route to Paignton for the annual airshow.

After a good quality breakfast, the team went in to the match with the belief that they could keep our record going but unfortunately came up a bit short in some of the matches despite some cracking match play golf on show.

The result was a 5:2 win to Teignmouth with the return fixture at home in about 6 weeks. On a positive note we gained 2 points and Dainton remains top of the table with it all to play for.

⛳️ A double triumph for Dainton Park over the weekend!

On Saturday 23rd of May at Torquay Golf Course in the heat, the Dainton juniors were playing their 2nd round match against Exminster Golf Club in the basil steer.

First out was Gabriel Gillingwater, giving his opponent 7 shots, took an early lead and at one point was 5 up, but with his opponent making birdies and pars on shot holes, he came back at Gabe with him only 1 up with 2 holes to go, which Gabe halved both to take a 1 up win.

Second out was Ben Sanders, giving his opponent 11 shots, was a very close match throughout until the end, with Ben being 2 down with 2 to play, with Ben playing some great golf, winning the last 2 holes to take it back down the first, giving his opponent a shot with an amazing drive and wedge shot to 5ft, sinking the birdie putt to secure a winning point for the team.

Third out was Adrian Pratt, with either player getting 0 shots, this was a very close match with AD playing some great golf but unfortunately lost 2-1.

Dainton now go through to the quarter finals where we face either Churston or Saunton. 🥳

Then on Sunday 24th May, Dainton had a strong start to the Dartmoor League season with a convincing 3.5 - 1.5 home win over Elfordleigh

Some dominant performances across the board, but just as impressive were the fight backs and hard-fought wins that helped secure a great opening result for the team.

A tough test awaits next as we travel to Woodbury away this Sunday! 🤞

A Little Dainton Miracle 🦢

After over 8 years on her own, our resident swan has finally found love again - and what a beautiful love story it has turned into! A young male arrived on our lakes 18 months ago, and this week she has hatched 7 beautiful cygnets... The first here in a decade.

It's safe to say the whole team (and our members) are completely obsessed and smitten. Please enjoy them from a safe distance if you're visiting - mum & dad are very proud and very protective.
