The final Devon Alliance event and it was at Tiverton GC.
The course was in good condition and the weather was perfect for scoring.
I was feeling very nervous as I do every event something I need to work on, but I got of to a shaky start being +2 thru 4, I then settled myself thru 11 holes having all pars! From the 12th I went bogey, par, bogey and it took me to
4 over and I thought stick in there I really need to go birdie, birdie and I did, I then made a silly bogey on 17th and made a great par on 18th to finish +3(33pts).
It was then waiting to see what Ryan Pope had and others for the different in points.
I was happy again how I grinded out a score to get hopefully some OOM points.
After waiting for all the groups to come in I worked it out I had WON by 2 OOM points and I had WON đ.
People might think this write up is a little over the top or sad but to me I am so proud Iâve managed to play half decent over the 2021/2022 season of Alliances but I have managed to WIN the OOM and thatâs something I am so proud of as my game hasnât been amazing but I have stuck in there and grinded out every score time I played, to try to get some points to give myself a chance to win!
I am just pleased I managed to keep it going and I want to thank my coach Alex Clapp too as my swing work with him has made me become a much more consistent player giving me the confidence to grind out scores with a golf swing I can rely on and itâs given me the chance to actually win something đȘ.
Iâve enjoyed every event this year and I have to thank my ED alliance team members for being amazing too as they have helped me to even be at some of events, so if it wasnât for them Iâd definitely not have been able to have Won.
I am Devon PGA Alliance Captain next year and looking forward to that and hopefully be able to play some half decent golf like I did for this years Alliance.
Sorry if these have bored people but Iâve done an update every event and now no more updates unless I play other Pro-Ams over the season and I will update you all then.
Awaiting a picture with my trophy!
