If your coach doesn’t have a coach how are they getting better?

Are they learning new skills?
Are they taking time to work on their own fitness and weak points?
Do they set their ego aside to get a better view of things that they need to work on?
Are they trying to improve everyday?

If your coach doesn’t have a coach, how do you know they are becoming a better athlete, a better person?

As a coach you should always be striving to get better, improve your skills, work on your weaknesses and most importantly - learn.

If your coach doesn’t have a coach, maybe ask them why?

“Although we should have goals and be working toward them no matter the time of year, for many, a new year brings the feeling of new opportunity, take advantage of this feeling” - Comptrain

Today was the first workout of 2022. It was tough, my recovery from a heavy session the day before was the lowest it’s been in a longtime but my routine and passion for training kept me going long after my body started to struggle.

This is the time of year to reflect truly on what we want to be and take advantage of our hope for new beginnings.

If you’re looking to improve your fitness and health for the long term; set some reasonable goals, make steps to achieve them and never feel like you can’t ask for help. That’s what I’m here for!

Happy 1st day of the year.

“I never used to like the gym. Hated it and thought why go to the gym when I can run outdoors? However, 5 weeks into training with Jess has given me a focus on strength and conditioning and I feel better for a full body workout.

Won’t stop me running but loving the workouts because they are varied, challenging but doable (just). Thanks Jess’

I’ve decided that every Wednesday would be a Mikko’s triangle Wednesday for me. A 39 minute emom of row, ski and bike.

More for a mindset point of view but it’s good to get in the practice. I was consistent with 10 calories for all 10 rounds on each machine, next week we will go up.

If you want to give it a try;

EMOM 39
1 minute Row
1 minute ski
1 minute assault bike
1 minute rest

Set a target number of calories and complete that number for all machines each round. Your lowest calorie is your score

Fitness isn’t just how fit we are.

How is your nutrition?
How is your sleep?
How is your mindset?
What is your resting heart rate?
What is your average bone density?
How much muscle mass do you have?
How much body fat are you carrying?

We can’t measure our fitness from just how ‘fit’ we think we are, if you can run 3k without stopping, can you get off the ground if you fall? Can you lift your body weight?

If you’re not able to do the things that you want to do in life because you’re not ‘fit’ enough then your lifestyle is not supporting your goals, get some support - come train with me.
