🔴🔵 FULL TIME | WALDON 1ST 2️⃣-0️⃣ PAIGNTON VILLA 3RDS 🔵🔴

THREE POINTS. CLEAN SHEET. JOB DONE. 💪🏼

A massive well done to the lads yesterday. We knew we needed a result, and that’s exactly what we delivered with a hard-fought 2-0 victory. Despite a frustrating afternoon and a number of decisions going against us, the team showed great character, togetherness and determination to get the job done. 👊🏼

⭐ MAN OF THE MATCH: FRED ELLICOTT ⭐

Fred produced an outstanding performance, scoring one and setting up another. What a shift from the lad! 🔥

⚽ LUKE SNELL also stepped up and calmly dispatched his penalty to help seal the win.

The game could have been put to bed much earlier, but missed chances and some questionable decisions kept Villa in the contest. Thankfully, we stayed focused, stuck together and saw the game through.

The results haven’t always gone our way this season, but today was another important step in the right direction. ❤️💙

2️⃣-0️⃣ WALDON. THREE POINTS. ONTO THE NEXT ONE!

To some, it’s more than a club. It’s a family. ❤️💙

MATCH REPORT | WALDON ATHLETICS RESERVES 6–1 NEWTON ROVERS RESERVES

What a second-half performance from the lads! 🔵🔴

Waldon Athletics Reserves came away with an impressive 6–1 victory over Newton Rovers Reserves after a game of two very different halves.

The first half got off to a difficult start, with the lads looking nervous and taking time to settle into the game. It’s something we’ll take away and work on as a team moving forward. With less than 10 minutes on the clock, a costly mistake and a missed shout gave Newton Rovers the opportunity to take an early lead, which they managed to hold going into half-time.

After a tough team talk from the Gaffa, Waldon came out for the second half with a completely different mindset. The lads looked stronger, more confident and began to find their rhythm. Following a couple of substitutions, the pressure started to pay off.

On the 60-minute mark, Waldon were awarded a penalty and made no mistake in bringing the score level! ⚽

From there, the momentum shifted firmly in Waldon’s favour. Hayden McCarthy stepped up and fired Waldon into the lead before adding two more goals within 10 minutes to complete a fantastic spell of football! 🔥

Waldon continued to build on their performance, showing determination and confidence for the remainder of the game. Further goals from Leo Driscoll, Charlie Tout and Jay Tout helped complete a superb comeback, turning an early deficit into a convincing 6–1 win.

A massive second-half response from the lads, showing exactly what this team is capable of when they settle, work together and believe in themselves. There’s plenty to learn from the first half, but the character shown after the break deserves real credit.

Both sides have had difficult starts to the season, and both will be looking to put points on the board and get their campaigns moving in the right direction.

Although the results haven’t gone our way on the pitch so far this season, there’s plenty of positivity within this first-team group. The lads are united, sticking together and working hard for each other, and it’s clear for everyone to see how much they’re enjoying being part of this team. ❤️💙

We’re building something here, and while success doesn’t happen overnight, the togetherness, commitment and attitude within this group give us plenty to look forward to over the coming seasons. 💪🏼

Saturday is another opportunity to put things right, battle for every ball and start turning those performances into points. We know what we’re capable of, and now it’s about showing it together.

To some, it’s more than a club. It’s a family. ❤️💙

Let’s get behind the lads and push on together!
