Please find notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting of the club.
This is to propose 2 exciting plans for the development of football provision in our town.
Resolutions
1. Motion for the clubs to participate In Horson Park Community Sports Trust (HPCST)
That the membership of Torpoint Athletic/ Torpoint Athletic Youth FC/ Torpoint AFC Juniors resolves to approve the Clubโs participation in the Horson Park project, including:
a. The establishment and recognition of an independent not for profit charitable organisation, Horson Park Community Sports Trust (HPCST), as the entity responsible for the ownership, development, and operation of the Horson Park facility; and to nominate and maintain one representative, selected by the Club Committee, to serve as a Trustee of the HPCST.
b. The designation of Horson Park as the official Home Ground for Torpoint Athletic Youth FC / Torpoint AFC Juniors / Torpoint Athletic FC (U18 team(s) only)] for teams from Underโ7 to Underโ18, subject to pitch availability and operational arrangements.
c. Agreement in principle to enter into a long-term Priority User Licence Agreement between the Club and the HPCST, which will:
o Provide the Club with priority access to the Horson Park facility;
o Include the payment of an annual licence fee to the HPCST (equivalent to up to ยฃ50 per player (for year 1);
o Require the Club to provide volunteers to support the operation of the on-site cafรฉ during periods of Club use, in accordance with a rota or schedule agreed with the HPCST;
o Include a fair and transparent exit mechanism, with a minimum notice period of one full season (12 months), to ensure security of tenure and continuity for both parties.
d. Delegate authority to the Club Committee to finalise and execute the Priority User Licence Agreement on substantially the same terms as outlined in the Heads of Terms circulated with the EGM papers, without the need for further member approval.
2. Motion for the Youth and Junior clubs to Merge
That the members approve the merger of Torpoint Athletic Youth FC and Torpoint Athletic FC Juniors to form a single unified youth football club operating from the start of the 2026/27 season, with all players, volunteers, governance, finances and policies transferred into one organisation. The merged club will continue under the existing Torpoint Athletic Youth FC registration for administrative purposes.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Mini Football side of the club will be financially selfโsustaining, with no subsidy from the wider membership
