Last week we hosted “Saltash D” and managed a 3-2 win. Wins for Tony, Andy and James saw us move on to 15 points from 30 and up to joint 5th in the table. Breaks of 33 and 25 from Andy being the highlight of a long evening!!
No video of the breaks this week yet! but here’s a video of the captain playing his favourite shot on Sunday. Away to Ivybridge tonight!!

This week we had another cup match, this time in the memorial cue competition away at Ford Cons. Captain Les was away this week and Jamie and Josh had a pool competition so Liam and Rob came in to help us out and Olly played again against Ford for the second time.
Liam needed to play and go so he was nominated to play first. After early struggles on the big table he knocked in a good 25 break which put him in a position. A strong finish from his opponent however meant losing on the black ball.
Andy played second against Andy Trim for the second time this season. A couple of 20 breaks saw him in control before a 55 clearance wrapped up the frame to make it 1-1. No video this time. The usual camera operator being at the table!!!
James played third with his new cue making its debut. A bit of a scrappy one ended up going against him but some good practice with the new stick. 2-1 down.
Rob stepped up and played some sensible stuff although missing a couple of easy ones. A couple of fluke snookers either way proving to be the difference as he levelled up the match 2-2.
Olly played the decider but couldn’t take it so it ended as a 3-2 defeat. This means we will be playing where we belong in the Nathan Finch Trophy!! Back to the league next week vs Saltash “D”

Well tonight was the first match of the league knockout and we were victorious against Saltash 'D'. A 3-2 win closely contested. James started with a very close frame winning on the pink. Josh took a victory after a great fightback winning again on the pink. Olly on only his second appearance was unlucky after a mid frame comeback. Captain next, after being infront fell behind but cleared up from green to black, black required but unfortunately missed and lost the potentially winning frame. Tony Hart representing for the first time slogged out a tight frame holding the lead for most of the frame, only to fall behind at a crucial point. Needing all colours from Brown down cleared up to take victory.

After the team went missing (0-5) last week vs “Pennycross C” we were back playing away vs one of the newly promoted sides “Legends Lounge B”.
James played first with a 31 break proving to be decisive for 1-0.
Jamie played next in the longest frame ever. Both players struggled on the colours with Jamie eventually managing to fall over the line on the black 2-0.
Andy then dominated in the next against a frustrated opponent to take us to 3-0!! Les didn’t get many opportunities and was well beaten in the fourth making it 3-1 before Josh played last but couldn’t quite finish it off on the black so it finished 3-2. Next week it’s a cup match at home vs “Saltash D”.

Away to Agaton this week!!
Andy went on first and struggled with the table conditions. Fortunately so did his opponent meaning that after a drawn out scrappy frame we went 1-0 up.
Captain Les was on second. It quickly became 2-0 as Les grew into the game, was in good form and made short work of his opponent winning easily including a good 27 break.
Josh went on third and had a good frame, unfortunately just missing out on the black ball again 2-1.
Up next was no.1 James who put in a very good performance including a good but lucky 53 break!! 3-1..
Last on was Jamie who played some lovely shots but had some poor luck. His game also going all the way but again just not getting over the line.
Final score a 3-2 away win.
Next week home to “Cornish Boys”Pennycross “C”

Round 2 of the season on Thursday vs Ford Cons “B” who had won their first match 4-1 so we were expecting a tough match. There were a few players running late so the skipper drew the short straw and had to put himself on first. After some good early potting he built a forty point lead only to give away a few chances and be facing a tense black ball game. This time however he managed to not come up short and edged it to go 1-0.
James was up next, both players struggled to find form but eventually James won out on the final few colours to make it 2-0.
Josh played third and won in another tight game that went all the way to the final ball, 3-0!!
Next up Andy vs Andy Trim. A solid frame from Andy W. Not many chances given away and a mostly straightforward frame 4-0!!
Could Olly complete the 5?? Not quite!! A good performance from their under pressure captain Kev saw them avoid the dreaded whitewash!! Unlucky Olly!

New Season. Welcome back everyone!! We started off tonight with an away trip to Saltash “A”. Miserable bunch but some good banter!!! First frame of the season saw Andy deservedly taking the frame with some good potting and a good snooker escape. Jamie followed next and had a good scrap with Bruce who narrowly edged the frame to make it 1-1. James played next v Barry Russell and a close frame which swung both ways was eventually won by James (30 break but needs to check the scoreboard 🧮) Edmonds.
The skipper was up next vs 🏌️1 handicapper “no rest” Colin kitt. Unfortunately for Les, Colin potted his first ever ball with the rest and then swiftly followed it with his second to put the frame out of reach 🪜 and make it 2-2.
Josh was on last with the chance to set us on our way with a win!!!! A good frame with a clearance chance to win, just fell short on the blue.

So last night we hosted Saltash A at home. James went first and had a nice 31 break but was unlucky at the end to lose on the black. Jack went next managing to get us back to 1-1. Andy went next and had a great solid game making it 2-1. Les went next and also had a good game bringing home the win, 3-1. Josh went last and quickly went 40 in front! However, the game was 2 halves and unfortunately the second half he struggled to pit and his opponent came back at him and took the win.
Nevertheless a 3-2 win at home is always nice! Ford cons next week!

Last night saw us away at top of the league Pennycross C and unfortunately we lost 5-0.
Not much to report really, well done to Mitch grinstead on his 107 clearance and James now has the low score record of 2 points. Other than that nothing to report.

So last night, we went to legends lounge. Andy went first and was so unlucky to lose on a black ball game after a superb pot by his opponent. Jamie went next and played ok but couldn’t get the win. Score 0-2. Les went third and pulled one back making it 1-2. Jack went next and produced an 8 minute frame knocking in a 38 to take the teams highest break so far in the league. James went last and also had a break and nearly broke the record again but missed a tricky black. Cracking 3-2 win away from home being 0-2 down. Well played boys

Hey sports fans

Sorry not had any updates over the last couple of weeks, all been very busy.
So quick update our first game back on the 16th saw us beat Saltash F 4-1 and then last week, as you can see by the picture, we lost 3-2 to Plymouth snooker academy.
