Keep pi***ng into the wind, expect to get wet.

Maybe you’re going to the gym without a plan.

Maybe you’re winging it.

Maybe you’re waiting to see results, but they arent coming.

Might as well be pi***ng into the wind.

Hoping for the best.

When what you really need is a plan.

You need a structured routine.

You need someone to lay out exactly what you’re doing.

When to do it.

How much to do to get to the place you want to be.

Someone who will push you.

Set some expectations around what it’s going to take.

Give you a time frame, if you put the work in.

Orrrrrr..

If you havent got a plan, or any accountability, it’s going to take so much longer.

But I think thats to be expected.

Expect to get wet.

I can guarantee you that if you came to one of my groups you would put in a lot more effort than if you went on your own.

I woke up on the floor of a portaloo without my flip-flops.

No phone.

No wallet.

And stones sticking into my feet as I stumbled back to my hostel.

Yup, my fitness journey was going about as well as could be expected.

I was young, nearing the end of a backpacking trip, and somewhere between late nights, poor food choices, and too many excuses, I’d completely stopped looking after myself.

That morning was a bit of a wake up call.

Not because I lost my flip flops.

Not because I lost my phone.

But because I realised I was drifting.

I wasn’t exercising consistently.

I wasn’t eating well.

I wasn’t taking care of myself.

And I knew something had to change.

A few weeks later, I got home and decided enough was enough.

I got myself a personal trainer.

Now, could I have gone to the gym on my own?

Of course.

I actually did.

I’d sign up.

Go for a few weeks.

Watch a few videos.

Try random workouts.

Then lose motivation, lose direction, and end up right back where I started.

I wasn’t lacking effort.

I was lacking a plan.

I felt like I was back on the floor of that portaloo..

Stuck, confused, and wondering how I’d ended up there again.

So I did what my clients have done.

I asked for help.

I put my faith in someone who knew what they were doing.

Someone who could give me structure.

Someone who could keep me accountable.

Someone who could help me avoid the mistakes I’d been making.

And it worked.

Not because we have some secret that you havent read about.

But because having the right guidance removes the guesswork.

It gives you a clear path to follow when you’re not sure what to do next.

That’s why I became a personal trainer.

Because I know what it’s like to feel lost.

I know what it’s like to start over.

And I know how much easier the journey becomes when you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Getting older and dusty?

Feel like you’re falling apart?

Joints aching.

Clicking all the time.

Bent over to pick a pen up, back blew out.

All normal things to happen as we age..

But every day shouldn’t feel like a struggle.

Being out of breath walking up the stairs isnt actually normal.

And if this sounds like you then maybe its time to make some changes.

You need to start getting fitter.

“Cant be arsed” Isnt going to fly anymore.

Not exercising isnt going to cut it any more.

Just blaming it on getting older isnt going to fly anymore.

I have people in the studio who are in their 70’s who are determined to be as fit as possible.

As someone who has sat outside a gym before, trying to get the courage to walk in..

Only to turn the engine back on and go home..

Trust me, I get it.

Thats why I try to make the process as easy as possible for everyone that walks through the doors.

Give yourself longer than a week.

Two isnt enough time either.

You need to give yourself MONTHS.

Surprised?

You shouldn’t be.

It takes months to see progress.

Of course you’ll get little wins at the start.

A few lbs off.

A few kgs heavier on your lifts.

But to see real change you need to give it time.

Time to work.

Time to adapt.

Time to make sure you’re doing the right things.

Everything worth wile takes time.

Just because you have amazon prime and you get things next day..

Doesnt mean this works the same.

It takes time.

It takes consistency.

And it takes some sacrifice.

BUTTTTTTT

The positives out weigh those things by a big margin.

You get to live longer.

Be healthier.

Be stronger.

You get to look younger.

You get to feel younger.

And you will see improvements in every single part of your life.

All for a few hours a week in the gym.
