Wednesday on the Water

That’s a wrap! We had a successful last “Wednesday on the Water” for summer 2026.

The day started with coffee and biscuits, some maintenance to outboards and club boats and checking over the club “Comet” dinghy, which hadn’t been rigged since it arrived in the winter.

Unfortunately the fresh winds of Monday & Tuesday had died down significantly and we were left with light winds, but by the end of the day these had improved and the sailors enjoyed the freshening breeze.

Stuart & Jonathan were holding one of their coaching sessions, Pippa & Issac were put through their paces and I’m sure they both learned a lot today.

We had general sailing going on as well with Imogen, John & Chris all out on the lake making the best of the available wind.

We plan to run these sessions again in summer 2027 and will confirm the proposed dates at the start of the 2027 season.

Wednesday on the Water at Haysden Water with TTSC

This Wednesday, 26th August, is the last of the 2026 Summer Season of “Wednesday on the Water”, so this is your last opportunity to take advantage of a mid-week sail on Haysden Water with OOD & Safety cover provided by the “Wednesday Club” members.

At the moment the Met Office weather forecast is a bit of a mixed bag, but there does seem to be some fair winds forecast, with gusts up to 20mph.

Sailing starts at 11am and ends around 3pm, it is open to all TTSC members, young and old.

Please note that any TTSC sailors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of their visit to the club.

For this week members of the TTSC Youth Race Training Squad will out on the water, but there is plenty of room out on the lake for all, so come down and lets see if we can get as many boats out on the water as we can!

TTSC Junior Club & Adult Improvers Sunday 23rd August 2026 for TTSC Members only.

This Sunday is the next Junior Club event of this season, it is also the next opportunity for the adults to get out on the water with TTSC RYA instructors on hand if needed!

The morning sees the normal Sunday racing events, which is open to ALL club members, young, old and enthusiastic.

Sunday racing has 2 races, first race starts at 10am and the second race starts at 12 noon.

The afternoon events start with boats rigging for the juniors from 13.30 and all boats on the water from 2pm.

Unfortunately the BBQ will not be available for this session, so bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it.

Please note that this event will be subject to a water quality inspection 1st am on Sunday morning , so please look out for TTSC WhatsApp messages to update members on this.

Yesterday at TTSC - cleaning the foreshore, rigging the club Solo, new wheels and greasing bearings on another safety boat trailer.

"Wednesday on the Water" at Haysden Water with Tonbridge Sailing Club.

This coming Wednesday, 19th August is our penultimate Wednesday sailing event of the summer season.

Check out the poster in the photos for more info. (photo of Fiona and Adam for effect !)

Please check the TTSC WhatsApp groups on Wednesday morning before you leave for the club, the lake will be subject to a Water quality inspection first thing on Wednesday morning, hopefully all will be OK 🤞

With apologies for the delay in posting!
They say that variety is the spice of ;life and we certainly had that this week.
Radio Controlled Yachting for a few including two of our young members who had their first experience of it; renew wheels and pack bearings on a safety boat trailer; cutting back brambles and one very happy young sailor out in his new Topper.
Plus the usual coffee, biscuits and chats!

Wednesday on the Water at Haysden Water.

This Wednesday is another opportunity to take to the water at TTSC Haysden Water.

We are now halfway through the 2026 summer season of Wednesday sailing and tomorrow's forecast is for "gentle breezes" and gusts up to 19mph in the afternoon. So there should be something for everyone!

Open to club members of all ages, please see poster below for more details.

Sailing starts at 11am and finishes around 3pm.
