A few people have been asking about weighted hoops so I'm sharing my post again to make it easier to find! Hopefully this helps!

The ultimate question: which hoop should you buy for class? Read on for tips when choosing a hoop and some links to great options!

There are lots of things to consider here but the two key things are size and weight.

For beginners, you want the hoop to come from the floor to about your belly button. For most people 100cm is a good start point but if you are a taller person, you may want to size up. The next most important point is weight.

Heavier hoops are easier to spin in the beginning but if you go over 1.2kg it may cause pain and bruising. My favourite hoops are around 850g but anything from 600g-1.2kg will work fine.

The final point to consider is flexibility. You can buy hoops that are all in one piece and these are often sturdier which is better in the beginning. If you have storage concerns, you might want a collapsible hoop. These are often less sturdy in shape, but pack away small, perfect if, like me, you live in a tiny space!
