**2️⃣ Recovery Takes Longer**

Another thing I wish I'd known when perimenopause started was that needing more recovery didn't mean I was getting lazy, losing my fitness or "just getting older."

For years I could train hard and bounce back quickly.

Then things started to change.

I noticed I felt more tired after workouts.
Sleep became more important.
Pushing harder didn't always give better results.

At first, I thought I needed to do more.

But I've learned that recovery isn't a weakness—it's part of the process.

These days I focus on:

✔️ Quality sleep
✔️ Strength training over endless cardio
✔️ Protein and proper nutrition
✔️ Rest days without guilt
✔️ Listening to my body instead of fighting it

Perimenopause has taught me that progress doesn't always come from doing more.

Sometimes it comes from doing less, but doing it better.

**Strong at 53 isn't about training harder. It's about training smarter. ❤️**

Have you noticed your body needs more recovery than it used to?

**1️⃣ Sleep changes are real.**

One of the first things I wish I'd known when perimenopause started was that disrupted sleep wasn't "just getting older."

Waking at 3am.
Feeling exhausted despite spending enough hours in bed.
Struggling to recover from workouts.
Feeling like I was running on empty.

I honestly thought I was doing something wrong.

What I didn't realise was that hormonal changes can have a huge impact on sleep quality, energy, and recovery.

Instead of fighting my body, I started focusing on the things I could control:

✔️ A consistent bedtime routine
✔️ Strength training
✔️ Prioritising protein
✔️ Managing stress
✔️ Being kinder to myself when I needed more rest

Perimenopause changed the rules, but it didn't change what's possible.

If you're experiencing sleep changes too, you're not alone. ❤️

Follow along as I share the 5 things I wish I'd known when perimenopause started.

Perimenopause changed the rules. It didn't change what's possible."

Perimenopause tried to convince me that my best years were behind me.

The fatigue, the disrupted sleep, the stubborn body composition changes, the fluctuating energy, the frustration of doing everything that used to work and seeing very little return. There were times when I wondered if I would ever feel strong, capable, and confident in my body again.

But at 53, I'm stronger than I've been in years.

Not because I trained harder, starved myself, or spent hours doing endless cardio. The breakthrough came when I stopped fighting my changing body and started working with it.

I focused on strength training, prioritised recovery, fuelled my body properly, managed stress, and stayed consistent even when progress felt painfully slow.

Perimenopause changes the rules, but it doesn't mean the game is over.

If you're struggling right now, please know this: your body isn't broken. It simply needs a different approach than it did in your 20s, 30s, or even your early 40s.

The results you want are still possible.

Progress may not be linear. It may take more patience than before. But strength, muscle, confidence, and feeling good in your own skin are absolutely achievable.

I'm proof that 53 can still be strong.

Keep showing up. The investment is worth it. ❤️

Only if we accept failure have we truly been defeated.

I’ve seen clients give up on their goals simply because they didn’t get instant results. But when it comes to losing weight, real progress takes time — and it’s not always easy.

You have to be willing to make changes. That might mean cutting down on snacks, drinking less alcohol, getting more organised, or making time to exercise more consistently.

Some weeks the scales will move and you’ll feel amazing. Other weeks, the results may not seem as good — and that can happen for many different reasons.

The important thing is to keep going and never give up.

You didn’t gain the weight overnight, so don’t expect it to disappear overnight either. For most people, weight gain has built up over years, and lasting results take patience, consistency, and commitment.

The only time you truly fail is when you stop trying.

Keep going — it’s worth it 👌

Most people think they’re paying a personal trainer for sessions.

They’re not.

They’re paying for consistency, accountability, and results.

That’s why “pay as you go” rarely works long term.

When training becomes optional week to week, life will always find a reason to get in the way:

* Work gets busy
* Motivation drops
* Plans change
* Sessions get skipped

And inconsistent effort creates inconsistent results.

Monthly coaching changes that.

You commit to the process, not just a single workout.
You build routine.
You stay accountable.
You stop starting over every few weeks.

The clients who see the biggest transformations aren’t always the most talented.
They’re the most consistent.

Results don’t come from one session.
They come from showing up week after week.

That’s why I don’t just sell sessions.
I sell structure, accountability, and a plan that actually gets results.

Stop overcomplicating it.

You don’t need fancy meals or hours in the kitchen to hit your goals — you need consistency.

Today’s quick, high-protein setup:
🍌 Banana
🥗 Tuna salad
🥞 Protein pancakes
🥤 Protein shake

Balanced. Simple. Effective.

This is what staying on track actually looks like when you’re busy — fuel your body, hit your protein, and move on with your day.

Results come from what you do consistently, not occasionally. Stay disciplined 👊
