Handicrafts and Produce: Todmorden Country Fair

It's Saturday night - time for our last batch of category entries, this time, the Adults! This age range is 17+ and has the largest number of options, so get ready. Every year we're blown away by the talent we see, and this year will be no exception we're sure. Here we go - strap in - we're looking for your best:

🏛model of Todmorden Town Hall (12"x12"x12" max size, don't go wild!)
♻upcycled item of any kind
🍰baked cake
🎂decorated cake (no need for cakey insides, this is just the outer bit)
🖊drawn or painted picture
📸photographs
🍓jam, preserve or marmalade
🍅chutney, relish or pickle
🧶piece of knitting, crochet or weaving
👗needlework
❄️homemade batch of iced tea

Our judges look forward to feasting their eyes and bellies on your entries, as always! So get cracking, but make sure you buy a space for your entries in advance so we know how much space we need to show everything off to its best advantage.

Hello fellow teenagers - tonight we're highlighting the ages 12-16 category entries, which again include some themed entries for Todmorden Town Hall's 150th Anniversary. Time to flex!

We've said it before, we'll say it again - this is a chance to be creative, so don't worry if you aren't the top of your class or ready for Masterchef yet. Give it a go and see what happens...you might be surprised. We'll be looking for these items on the morning:

🏛a model of the Town Hall, no more than 12"x12"x12" (we aren't as big as the Town Hall)
🧶a knitted or crocheted blanket square
🍥your coolest cake or cupcakes
🎂your best cake decorations (it doesn't have to be a real cake, just a cake-shaped thing)(we won't be tasting it)
📸your favourite photo
🖌a drawn or painted picture on the Town Hall theme
🖊a story on the Town Hall theme (max 500 words)

This age category often has the smallest number of entries so hopefully this year will be different - and if nothing else, maybe that means you're more likely to get a rosette if you enter, so hey, why not? 😉

Welcome back again - tonight we're looking at the ages 8-11 category entries! Here's where things get exciting, with our Todmorden Town Hall 150th Anniversary theme for some of the entries. Hopefully your children got some inspiration from the fabulous events held earlier this year (but don't worry, not every entry is themed). This year we're looking for:

💍a handmade piece of jewellery
📸your best photos
🎂your best baking
👹your...funniest? scariest? you decide! mask
👨🏻‍🎨a drawn or painted picture on the Town Hall theme
🖊a short story on the Town Hall theme

Don't panic - we look for more than just technical detail or thrilling plots or perfect flavours - creativity counts too, and it's meant to be fun, so encourage your kids to have fun with these entries and don't let them sweat it

June 21st is drawing near, so it's time to start creating! Tonight we're highlighting the ages 0-7 categories, the arts and crafts that even your littlest ones can enjoy putting together (with your help, of course). We always love seeing them turn up on the day with their crafts - this year we're looking for:

💍bracelets or necklaces
🎨a picture (painted or drawn)
🖌decorated pebbles or stones
🥔fruit or vegetable characters
👹masks
🍰any baked item
