The British open has drawn to a close and what a fabulous weekend we had.
Despite the stome damage from the end of last year causing debris all through the course and loosing a hole altogether, after countless hours and lots of late evenings we managed to pull it off with the last baskets going in 2 days before tee off.

The weather was fantastic and gave us some very competitive golf with 5 shots between the top 5 going into the final round on Sunday.

We are happy to announce that registration for the British Open Disc Golf Championships opens tomorrow.

The British open comes back to the Isle of Mull, 24 years since the British open was last held on Mull on the iconic course at Fanmore in 2002.
Mull has a long history with British disc golf being part of the BDGA tour and hosting an annual event from 1992-2017.
After a sale of the land at fanmore the baskets were removed and relocated at Kilninian beach just 2 miles up the road.
The new course Windy Oaks holds its own identity but still has the same beautiful views and elevation shaping the coures with unique holes you won't find anywhere else! The course provides a wide variety of holes from short technical shots with OB lining narrow fairways to out in the open and throw as far as you can and the Atlantic ocean just meters from the basket of hole 1.
The tournament.
Saturday the 2nd of May will have a players meeting at 9:15 with the aim to tee off the first round at 10am with a shotgun start and all players playing the blue layout, followed by lunch at the Gazebo provided by The Tobermory Bakery offering a variety of pies, pasties and cakes using local produce. If you have any dietary requirements please let me know so we can provide suitable options.
The second round will tee off at 2pm, Shotgun start again with all players playing the blue layout.

Sunday the 3rd of May will have Tee times from 9:30am with divisions of MPO,FPO,MP40 and MA1 playing the long layout for the British open and the rest playing the Blue layout.
Once all cards are finished there will be a prize giving at the Gazebo

This tournament offers 3 rounds of disc golf, lunch provided by the Tobermory Bakery handmade trophies for division winners and excellent plastic from Latitude 64 in players packs and prizes.

This weekend we held the 28th Isle Of Mull Open at our course Windy Oaks over at Kilninian beach.
It was beautiful sunshine but quite blustery, very typical conditions, hence the course name. Over 50 people flocked the the course for the tournament and It was a very competitive field in all divisions, Ben took the club house lead after round 1 with a 4 under par round but the quality of Charlie O'brien shon through shooting a course record 9 under in the round 3, taking the MPO tital with a finishing score of -15. Trevor Bechtel took the MP40 tital and with a lovely tribute to Fraser McRae at the prize giving. Tom Wells took down another MA1 win and brother Jamie Wells took the MA2 crown. Ashley Riley strolled to victory in the MA3 division. See the full results in this link

We have to say a huge thankyou to Ben Bolton Adrian Sorin Mutei and Grant Lopes for doing all the hard work to make this tournament happen by setting out the course and renovating the baskets into their fabulous new look and disc catching ability to make the playing experience as good as we possibly could for all the travelling players. A big shout out to Guy and Sophie Bolton and Silva Barauska for doing the BBQ at lunch feeding all 51 players, an old tradition that will continue and Shaun MacEachen for the tech support.

Looking forward to next year already.
