here is the announcement made by the college -
DISCONTINUATION OF PUBLIC ACCESS TO TIVERTON GYM
Following an in-depth review, the College has decided to discontinue public access to the gym from 25 October 2024. The decision was driven by several factors, most notably the very small number of external users. This has made it uneconomical to maintain long-term. Furthermore, like many further education institutions, we are under significant financial strain, exacerbated by national funding pressures.
While we understand this change may affect some members of the community who regularly use the gym, there are other local alternatives, such as the Exe Valley Leisure Centre and several private gyms in the area.
Important Update for Our Tiverton Campus Gym.
After careful consideration, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our gym facilities to the public from 25 October.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our gym community over the years! For those looking to continue their fitness journey, there are other fantastic local options and we encourage you to check out the brilliant facilities at Exe Valley Leisure Centre and other great gyms in the area.
We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support, and we look forward to seeing our community stay active and healthy in other facilities within the community.
